She refused to order my 7 week old daughter a blood test on her third straight day of running a fever despite the advice of the emergency room physician who saw her the night before. Jane told me that a runny nose and a fever were of the same seriousness in her opinion, therefore she saw no medical reason to order a blood test to rule out the possibility of a bacterial infection. At the time of our conversation my daughter was running another fever. This was Dr. Jane Wilkov’s response after I told her I would file a former complaint with the State medical board : “What are you going to tell them? What do you have on me? Are you going to tell them that you refused to take my medical advice and that I hate black people?” I hope this review and the lack of diversity within the staff at her own practice speaks for itself.

In person visits may be acceptable/average but their after hours call line (and to be perfectly honest their phone customer service skills) is severely lacking in quality and service. Called multiple times over the course of three days and my experience ranged from being lectured by a doctor on her qualifications and schooling, being brushed aside and the most common...simply not hearing from anyone until a day or so later. Quick pro tip if your business is to remain successful it would be to your benefit to refer after hours calls to qualified physicians at children’s healthcare of Atlanta or simply pay one or two people whose sole responsibility is to answer the after hours calls (not your full time staff who already worked an eight hour day). One more tip, in my line of work it is never acceptable or productive to disregard the feelings and opinions of the customers that should be even more obvious if you run a healthcare facility for parents and their children.
