Dr. Lowenstein always takes time to discuss my care and treatment plan. I feel totally confident in his care. His PA Brianne gave such excellent care post op in the hospital. She made me feel like I was important enough to take the time to talk, review care and answer all questions - she was so very caring. All the staff at The Advance Spine Center are kind, helpful and caring.

My amazing journey with Dr. Lowenstein started with his scheduler when my previous doctor stopped taking my insurance and I called his office they made my appointment within days. He was so compassionate and took the time to explain everything I should expect. His Physician Assistants are professional, caring and top notch. I can't say enough about how wonderful my experience was and how they gave me my life back.

Dr Lowenstein and his staff were very accommodating to me through pre and post-Op. The ease I felt going into surgery and coming out with a plan made this recovery easy. The support I had from him and his staff were incredible and I can't thank him enough. Today is 6 months since I had my surgery and I have never felt better. There is no one else that I would highly recommend.

Dr. Lowenstein did an amazing job. My spine is straighter than when my scoliosis all began at 11 years old. Many doctors told me my spine could not be fixed, therefore I developed other health issues. I highly recommend Dr. Lowenstein for anyone’s spinal issues.

Tried everything to resolve my nerve pain issues and was told that I could no longer be helped. I came to Dr. Lowenstein with severe nerve pain and he has essentially rebuilt my spine and promised improvement. I know it's different for everyone, but my nerve pain has been reduced by at least 90%. I no longer walk with a cane. I cannot tell you how much this has impacted and improved my quality of life. I was initially diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 19 years old. My initial surgery was performed immediately at the time of my diagnosis by a NYC surgeon who was viewed as a scoliosis “master”. Although the surgeon was known for his mechanical surgical skills, which yes he did have, and I was considered in great hands, and did have a successful harrington rod placement surgery (and 9 months in a full torso plaster cast!) I felt like just “another scoliosis patient”; a challenge for him to conquer. Fast forward about 45 years, due to spinal discomfort I again was in search for a scoliosis specialist - however now add the caveat of requiring the skills of a surgeon with an expertise in scoliosis revision surgery. My search again led me to another surgeon, and this time in my “own backyard” in NJ, with accolades for his extraordinary mechanical surgical skills, especially with scoliosis and with scoliosis revision surgeries. The main difference this time was I was not made to… feel like a “number” or “ just another case to conquer”. Immediately upon our first visit he sensed my anxt and fear about needing to re-experience a scoliosis surgery. Dr Lowenstein’s calm and confident demeanor assured me I was in great hands to tackle the revision. He is a man of few words, but the ones that hit home were “don’t worry we will fix you”; and I knew he meant it! He spent the time to review all my diagnostic tests/films with me, and explain in layman’s terms but professionally the procedures he would perform to rectify my situation to the best of his ability to achieve the most optimal results. Amazingly, although I knew I had a challenging road a head of me, I left his office feeling calm and confident and my hand was not overly shaking as I signed the paperwork to start the journey for my revision surgery. I am now recovering from a successful revision surgery, thanks to Dr Lowenstein and his clinical/OR team, Tanya and Brianna and his office staff Paula and Richard. I would not hesitate for moment to recommend Dr Lowenstein if you or your child is in need of a spinal evaluation and/or surgical treatment for scoliosis. Joseph C

After 2 failed surgeries by other doctors I finally found the doctor who knew exactly what to do to help me. His office staff was awesome , he diagnosed the problem an fixed it . I would recommend him to anyone . He should be the first doctor you see , you won't need to go anywhere else.

I cannot recommend Dr. Lowenstein and The Advanced Spine Center enough! After many years of not finding the help I needed in RI, I researched spine specialists and came across Dr. Lowenstein. I have been struggling with S-shaped scoliosis since my preteen years and my pain was only getting worse in my forties. Due to my age, I had been told by other specialists that I was not a good candidate for back surgery, so to hear him tell me otherwise was reassuring. Dr. Lowenstein was extremely confident that he could help me. Since the first appointment, Dr. Lowenstein and his team made the process extremely easy. They were accommodating and kind, working around my schedule, which was important to me since I had a three and a half hour commute. I was able to do the MRI’s needed in my home state and he also met with me virtually to answer all of my questions about the operation. I’ve been in recovery for a little over two months now and I am extremely happy with the results. My shoulders are… finally even, my hips are aligned and my back is so much straighter. Plus, I’m actually about three inches taller than I was before! Dr. Lowenstein has given me a much better quality of life and I am so thankful both for him and his entire team.

Dr. Lowenstein recently performed a life changing spinal fusion surgery- 13 vertebrates in total to correct my S- shaped scoliosis .At the age of 38 I never imagined this would be my reality but it was my confidence in Dr. Lowenstein and the success of his other patients that made me realize there was no sense delaying the inevitable and I am so glad I didn’t. At each appointment he clearly communicated my current medical state, outlined possible next steps and timelines in a way that was easily digestible and not overwhelming. He made you feel at ease. When it came to my surgery he meticulously described the procedure and what to expect for a recovery. During my hospital stay he and his team conducted several follow up visits ensuring my comfort and recovery was on track. Dr. Lowenstein is an expert in his field, meticulous and passionate about his work and prioritizes the needs of his patients. At 2 months post surgery, I am very pleased with the results and happy that I did it.
