Dr. Gbolabo Sokunbi, MD

Dr. Sokunbi is a very thoughtful and thorough surgeon. He works you through both conservative and surgical modalities of treatment to get the best results possible. As a surgeon myself, my hands and neck are everything to me. I feel incredibly grateful to Dr. Sokunbi for repairing my neck and getting me back to work. The incision on my neck is barely visible. As a surgeon I can attest to his incredible hand skills. He is truly gifted.

Dr. Sokunbi is a very capable surgeon who explained everything clearly and directly. I did not leave with any questions in my mind and left knowing that everything would go well. When he saw me, he even tried to rearrange his schedule to fit me in the next day! This shows the effort he put into my care.

Prior to my operation on Oct 31. my pain level was at an 8 or 9 everyday. I am a 71 year old male. I got shots in my back and that afforded me some relief. I was bent over and mobility was completely impaired. I went to Dr Sokunbi of St Lukes Orthopedics and he operated on my back. After the operation Physical Therapy came and got me out of bed and made me walk up stairs and around the hospital floor . When I came back to my room I did not realize, but during my walk I had minimal pain and was able to go up steps and walk without pain or problem. The difference between before and after the operation was dramatic. It is 3 weeks after the operation my pain level is at a 1 or 2 due to the operation not my back. I am soo very thankful to Dr Sokunbi and Kevin for their help, knowledge and skill. His reputation proceeds him. I would highly recommend Dr Sokunbi. He was characterized to me many times as the Doctors, Doctor. Thank You very much Dr Sokunbi

I recently began meeting with Dr. Gbolabo Sokunbi in Nov 2018 due to lower back and leg pain. Dr. Sokunbi was referred to me by my Pain and Spine doctor. Dr. Sokunbi is great. He spends time in the visits and made sure I understood my diagnosis, my test results, my options other than surgery. I wanted to go least invasive first and he allowed me to make that decision, but the time did come where surgery was necessary. He continued to follow me after surgery and answer questions. Dr. Sokunbi is an amazing doctor and surgeon. I have already recommended him to coworkers and family/friends.

During visits he told me he was surgeon about 5 times...even pointed to his coat for me to read his title. He is rude arrogant non caring and not helpful. I would not suggest going to see him. He will make you try to feel stupid if you try to have any voice in the room. At a time when you need someone to help...its disappointing.

I am 6 weeks out from back surgery ( discectomy of a ruptured disc) and was treated very well by all staff. Dr. Sokunbi was always courteous and informative, answered all questions and gave real expectations of the outcome.

Dr. Sokunbi is knowledgeable, experienced, competent, and polite. Staff is caring and polite. Appointment on time. Dr explained procedure, & surgery outcome was excellent. Quality of life back. Definitely would recommend this caring doctor.

Both Dr. Sokunbi and his whole staff were very competent and caring. This is a rare combo in this day and age. He has given me my quality of life back and am so grateful. I cannot thank him enough.

Dr.Sokunbi is a kind, knowledgeable physician. His calming demeanor made me feel at ease almost immediately. I did not feel rushed and he took the time to explain my condition so that I would understand it fully. Definitely would recommend him to anyone.

Office staff was horrible. Dr. has zero people skills. He may know his stuff but there are other doctors in the area who do too and do not display an air of arrogance as he did
