Dr. Eduardo Agustin Salvati, MD

I waited 27 years to write this. I’m sorry. I wish I wrote it sooner. I’m sure he is close to retiring and has had a great life. But I can’t let one more person choose a doctor based solely on his ability to do surgery. There is more to a surgeon than that. And my dad could have had the opportunity to continue to be that surgeon, if Dr Salvati hadn’t ruined his life and that of our family and the countless people my father could have gone on saving.

Had a total hip replacement by Dr. Salvati in May 2002. He is the most brilliant surgeon. I walked out of HSS with a cane 3 days after the surgery. My recuperation was not painful -- after 4-6 weeks I was looking great and walking perfectly and after 3 months I felt like a whole new person. I now live in Florida and just had an xray of the hip replacement. It is still in flawless condition 17 1/2 years later. I cannot thank Dr. Salvati enough for all he has done for me . I was practically wheel chair bound from osteoarthritis when I first came to his office. Thanks, Dr. S and G-d Bless !

Dr. Salvati replaced both hips on the same day. I was on my feet the next day. Went to Burke rehab the third day and was walking without pain and without a limp the 4th day. Before surgery, I had constant pain and could walk only with a walker. 17 years later, I am still grateful to Dr. Salvati,s expertise. I have had 17 years of full mobility, pain free.

I am now 1 week post total hip replacement and can't believe that I am walking with a cane. The incision is healing beautifully and the pain level is totally manageable. My physical therapist stated that she has patients that are still experiencing pain at the point where she is ready to discharge them from home PT. It is so true to state that it is who does the surgery that matters not which method. HSS has it totally down to a science.

Brilliant surgeon

I had 2 hips replaced by Dr Salvati and I feel better than I did as a 20 year old. I thank him every day. Yes he may not be friendly but I was looking for a great doctor and not a new best friend.
