Dr. Duretti Teferi Fufa, MD

Went to her for carpal tunnel consultation. Main impression was terrible and arrogant bedside manner. After an assistant did all of the preliminary vitals she breezed in, barely looked at me, asked a few questions about why I thought I needed the operation, told me some things I needed to do to rule out any other possible cause for numbness (which was fair) and left. Did not wait for possible questions. I was stunned. So I left, found another doctor, was diagnosed quickly, had a successful operation, and my carpal tunnel was fixed. I've learned throughout the years - when you don't like a doctor's vibe find one you can communicate with. There's always another talented surgeon out there who can assist you.

I think it's ridiculous at how one has to qualify to see a dr. After looking at profiles that describe the conditions you call only to be told" No "the dr only sees patients w fractures requiring surgery. Change the profile because my time is as important as the drs.

I want to first say I have been to HSS for my knee and my sons ankle, all were amazing experiences and results so I did not hesitate using a surgeon from HSS for my carpel tunnel and ulnar nerve surgery. I explained my passion was mountain biking and asked for all the possible downsides to the surgery. She DID NOT tell me there would be permanent hand weakness, elbow pain and in general possible for limited return to full strnth and mobility. At the hospital before surgery as I was being prepped she told me the pinky finger could be weak and a yeat to recover, SHE TELLS ME IN PRE OP!!!! TERRIBLE!! Well it got worse - after surgery which here office was very poor at providing post op process my hand went numb - the office told me to rush to post op care at hospital but she was not present and STILL she did not attend my post surgery visit and I had to make it an issue or they were only going to see me remote. Post op visits are impossible to get - office only want to see you… remotely. This is not acceptable when your hand is weak - how can they not want to see you n person!!! Whatever you do - NEVER EVER USE DR FUFA . I think I need a malpractice law referral !!

Saying she has poor bedside manners is an understatement.

She explained everything clearly, did excellent work, was on time and has a great staff.

Should not call herself a care-giver as she could have cared less about my feelings.

Amazingly competent doctor, straight talker yet nice. Was lucky to have her take care of my bilateral fractures. Showed great empathy and a fine sense of humor.

hands down on of the worst experiences i have ever had with a doctor. She was borderline hostile, at times combative, impatient, seemed completely put out and frustrated any time I asked a question...was very stand offish...just and awful experience

In a word she is like a magician.

My husband injured his pinky and had his initial visit with the doctor. He traveled 1 and half hour to see Dr. FUFA, Waited for 2.5 hours for a doctor who never showed up. He saw a PA and a nurses they did an x-ray for him, then refer him to see another hand specialist. the whole appointment was useless. After the appointment he had to go home to our baby, he wanted to check out but no staff was at the front desk. It was very unprofessional. There were no explanation as to why the doctor never showed up nor was there a follow-up call for an apology. Very disappointed!!
