Dr. Jeffrey Alan Ashby, MD

He is a character. He’s a big man, almost as tall as the door frame (probably 6’6”). He smiles often, listens well, and provides good feedback in a casual way. Note that Harrisonburg Family Practice generally will be hard to reach via phone. Dr. Ashby is understanding. And his diagnosis and pharmacological treatments have helped me become more enhanced. As I am graduate from JMU and move away, I hope to find a doctor like this man.

Recently my physician, Dr. Nio, was on vacation when I had an emergency need. Dr. Ashby was the physician available that day. When he came in, it was obvious he had already reviewed my file as well as my current problem. He had a casual friendly demenor but took my situation very seriously. Several other appointments were necessary as well as a referral to a large out-of-town hospital. He saw that everything was arranged within a very timely manner. While I am very happy with my regular physician, I could not have received better care from Dr. Ashby.

I require special medical care due to severe lung issues. Was waiting for a prescription I was promised for over a week after visit. Umerous phone calls to the office staff and never got a call back or my required prescriptions was to,d they were filling. Doctor never returned my calls, left me In The dark on what was going on and what was taking so long. This office does not care about patients, only getting payment. Dr. Ashby needs to follow up on phone call and after patient visits for elderly to ensure orders were followed and prescriptions were filled. I now have to find a new doctor. This is not the first time I have been waiting for prescription or received bad treatment from rude staff.

Took all most a moth to get Dieneties test results ,never did get prostic presciptions I needed. After 2 /70 mile trips. The worst experienc Ive ever had and Im 67 yrs. old

I couldn't ask for a better doctor than Dr. Ashby. He's very easy to talk to and discuss any issues/concerns, he's clearly incredibly intelligent (notably more so than any other doctor I've had) and its apparent that he continues to study and work on his craft and seems very willing to adapt to new technologies, treatment methods, etc. I would highly recommend his services.

Dr. Ashby is the most caring person. He's a great doctor. even when a patient doesn't take his advice at first he keeps trying to let you know what the best decision is even if it is going to the hospital.
