Dr. Jeffrey Paul Schaffer, MD

Rating is for one office staff member only. Dr. Schaeffer is wonderful! The one staff member is not caring or friendly. When someone is sick, trying to get an appointment or ask questions, the last thing you need is someone barking at you or leaving you rude,non caring messages. I'm moving on and found another Dr.

Dr. Schaffer is an excellent doctor. If only his nurses and administrative team are like him, then the office would be a 5 star team. Dr. Shaffer is however a 5 star doctor. My parents’ last visit had zero compassion from one nurse. She was rushing and demonstrated her annoyance and frustration. From one nurse to another, no matter what the workload is, the patients deserve respect and high quality care particularly the elderly. I can safely assume that her “behavior” caused the delay in sending the prescription to the lab. Additionally, even conversation on the phone, I already knew it was her from the tone in her voice. This is a doctors office, people come for treatment and feel comforted yet the latter is non-existent from this nurse. I was gonna find another office for my parents but Dr. Shaffer has been treating them for years and he’s been really great at it. It’s hard to find someone like him. I wish his team would take his lead. They can certainly use training on cultural… competency and sensitivity. They also need to be trained on providing privacy to their patients. Door is left open during examination and its accessible for anyone to just pop in. In my world this is a violation of HIPAA. Now, I wonder if she treats everyone like she treated us. Or could it be because we are a minority that we have such treatment from her. I hate to pull this card but I just can’t help but wonder since she’s frequently rude to my parents with every visit.

Dr. Schaffer is an excellent Dr. He is my internist, and I have a rare illness, but Dr. Schaffer takes better care of me than the specialist at Winthrop. He always researches, and has never given up on me. He is definitely one of a kind, and I highly recommend him.

I highly recommend this doctor. He is extremely helpful and listens carefully to what I have to say. His answers are very clear and thoughtful and diagnoses are very accurate.
