Dr. Jennifer Yuk Ling Butt, MD

Dr Butt is the best. I’ve been to many different gynecologists in the city before finding her, and she’s really really great. She delivered my baby and my experience was extremely positive! She makes you feel cared for, gives you all the time you need with questions without ever making you feel rushed, is thoughtful about her answers, and is gentle. I had tremendous anxiety about pregnancy and delivery and am really grateful that Dr Butt was my OBGYN to alleviate a lot of my stress.

One of my worst experiences with a medical professional to date. Dr. Butt's lack of attention and concern for me as a patient was remarkable. First, she completely dismissed any questions I had about my fertility. Even if this is not her specialty, she was completely unhelpful in referring me to someone who could assist with my questions and concerns. Second, as my referring physician for my yearly breast exam (mammogram and ultrasound), she failed to inform me about a problem with my results. I found out via a letter in the mail, days after her office had been informed. After I went for a follow up screening which was thankfully okay, her office called me with the initial results to alert me of a problem. At no point during this whole fiasco did I ever speak with Dr. Butt. Not only was her failure to contact me uncaring, it was unprofessional.

Very unpleasant experience that will be remembered for life. Please avoid if you can.

She has delivered my daughter and I am thinking to have another one. I feel completely confident this round will be success for one with doctor Butt. She is kind, professional and very smart doctor who will go out of her way to help with any concerns.

Dr. Butt has delivered both of our sons and i could not recommend anyone more highly. She is a thoughtful and caring doctor, but she is also smart and intuitive. She was everything we could have asked for and reassuring in our first pregnancy as well as helped us a navigate a very different complicated and high-risk second pregnancy. I could not recommend anyone more for the job. She put together an excellent team of doctors to handle our second pregnancy and we had the BEST possible outcome. I will forever owe her and trust her inherently for that. She is absolutely TOP at what she does.

I too felt Dr. Butt was arrogant and didn't have time for me or my questions. I wonder why she is even a doctor, especially an OB, when women like myself feel out of their element with their first pregnancies and do need a little encouragement and reassurance that everything is OK. I had called Dr. Butt's office on a Sunday because I had nearly blacked out. She was the doctor on call & while she promptly called me back she seemed irritated that she even had to deal with me. She sent me to the ER and when I asked if I really needed to do that she snapped back with "what do you expect me to do? We are on the phone, I can't diagnose you; you need to just go." I wish she had at least said, "I am sure everything is fine, but I think going to the ER is best." So in tears I went to the ER where I spent 2 hours to later be told by L&D that my doctor should have directed me straight to L&D because I was beyond 20 weeks. We were at the hospital until 2 AM.... of course everything was fine, but… how would she even know? Dr. Butt never bothered to call and when I transferred care and left her office two days later there was not a peep from her. Look elsewhere if you want to actually be cared for and work with doctor who likes their job. I am now at Mt. Sinai and thrilled with my care.

We were scheduled at 9:30 am and not seem until 10:45am. The receptionist must hate her job judging by her "I hate my job" face and attitude. Dr. Butt rushed through her speech, and shut me up twice by saying "I haven't gotten to that yet," and mocked my fear of needles by saying "Yeah, Anway..." Upon expressing concern over a vaginal ultrasound and a friend's misscariage that came shortly after, she coldly dissmissed our concerns as if we we're idiots. There is NO WAY EVER THAT THAT WOMAN WILL EVER DELIVER OUR BABY! On one of the most important days of our lifes, seeing our first ultrasound, we we're treated like school children being talked down to by an arrogant & pompous doctor! STAY AWAY!
