Dr. John Winslow Alford, MD

Dr Alford is an excellent surgeon. He is very kind, patient & compassionate & ensured my complete understanding during all my questions no matter how bizarre. He provided me with 2 surgeries & guided me through some tough times . He was not too proud to send me to another surgeon as my needs changed. I actually miss him! I strongly recommend him to anyone seeking responsible shoulder reconstruction.

Doctor Alford is just not a regular doctor; he is a people doctor, who cares about the well-being of his patients, and treats patients with kindness. I couldn't ask for a better successful and caring surgeon. I have had a very SUCCESSFUL right shoulder surgery the last year after being in pain for over 15 years; I had a very smooth, painless and fast recovery by following step by step Dr. Alford instructions. He is very professional and is very concerned with how I was doing, both before and after surgery. In 2 weeks, I will be getting a left shoulder surgery and I am confident that it will be a very successful too. I highly recommend Dr. Alford to anyone who has shoulder pain. Maybe the people who slam Dr. Alford are the ones who are hard to deal with. I have been under Dr. Alford's care and are very happy with the way I am treated. I had no feeling of being rushed and he asked several times if I had any questions. I know there were others waiting to see him but he took all the time I needed.

This guy is the worst doctor on the face of planet earth. His assistant is a rude, nasty person. Go anywhere but this guy's practice.

Overall one of the best shoulder specialists in the country. Combine that with his compassionate personality and friendly and understanding bedside manner, and I would recommend anyone with a shoulder problem to him for help. Rhode Island is lucky to have him.

I need surgery on my shoulder. Dr is making me wait though the physical therapist said there is no reason to wait. this is my decision and dr. Alford has made me feel very uncomfortable. I can no longer perform my job with confidence. In constant pain, also starting to injure other areas of my upper body trying to compensate for my shoulder. I will not have him perform surgery also every person I have talked to in the medical field has told me not to have him touch my shoulder. not at all satisfied with how he handled my injury.

Dr. Alford is very professional, wise in his field, and is very concerned for his patients' healing, pain, and overall care.
