Wonderful experience. Dr. Bierly performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. He stopped in to visit with me before surgery and explained things to me. His team worked well together. The atmosphere was great and everything was well organized. Highly recommend.

Dr. Bierly did my cataract surgeries in February and March of 2023. I had a GREAT experience with great results. I found him to be personable and professional. He is kind and listens. He answered all my questions. I saw him before and after both surgeries. He is experienced in cataract surgery (which is what you want!)

Jack Bierly performed my cataract surgery nearly a year ago. I opted for the ultimate package which supposedly gave me "ADVANCED Testing & Analytics ... CUSTOM lens calculations ... Treatment of Astigmatism ... CUSTOM multifocal lenses ... LASER-ASSIST ... Reduced dependence on glasses with functional vision at ALL distances" This package came at a cost of over $7,000. My regular eye doctor was extremely critical of the results, and assured me that Bierly would be receptive to replacing the lens. I was told that there was some kind of "debris" on the capsule that needed to be lasered away, but that it couldn't be done for 90 days. I waited 90 days, had the procedure done, and at that time, I inquired what the next step would be since I saw no improvement. Bierly replied "I guess we could do a lens swap". There was no improvement at all, but NOW ... he says the lens cannot be replaced BECAUSE of the laser procedure. His "assistant" Luckson Previl explained that lens… exchanges MUST be done in the first 30-60 days after the surgery. Both of these "doctors" dealt in half-truths and outright lies. After MUCH debate, they offered me a $3195 bribe to just go away. Now, I will need to be back in glasses & contact lenses for the rest of my life ... bear in mind ... I COULD have simply gotten the basic package that involved ZERO out of pocket expense, and would have left me in glasses & contact lenses. I spoke with a representative of the company and expressed my concerns, claiming that was simply not enough to cover my disappointing results. She said she would speak to the doctors and get back to me ... THAT was in late May 2022 ... so far ... NOTHING !!! There are too many reputable eye surgeons around to trust your vision with these quacks & liars. Do yourself a favor, and seek them out.

My husband has had cataract surgery on both eyes recently and cannot say enough good things about him and also his staff. His vision is greatly improved and Dr. Bierly and staff made him aware of the procedure and the aftercare. We are very impressed and would like to recommend him to any one looking for a great ophthalmologist in the Chattanooga area

Did not see him before surgery. Did not receive any medical advice from him about choosing the type of lens I needed. I was only told there could be halos around lights at night with the lens I chose ( the lens that would correct all vision and no glasses would be needed after surgery). After surgery my close range vision in one eye was blurry and never improved. It has been over six months since my surgery, and my close range vision is worse than before the surgery. I have tried to make an appointment with him to see what the problem is, but was told that he doesn’t see patients except for surgery. I am going to to get an appointment with another opthamologist to see if there is anything that can be done or if I will have to have glasses for reading. I am not pleased with the surgery.

My optometrist refers all of his patients to Dr Bierly for cataract eye surgery due to his excellent skills and using the most updated technology for improved outcomes. While it is disappointing that you don't have an opportunity to talk to or to meet Dr Bierly prior to your surgery date, his staff is very efficient, competent, and knowledgeable. Everyone does their part in guiding you through the process. I had excellent results with 20/20 vision in each eye on the first day post-op. It felt so good to donate my glasses to the Lion's Club. Thank you Dr Bierly and everyone at the Southeast Eye Center.

My Mother was very anxious concerning her eye surgery. DR. Bierly explained every detail and told her what to expect during and after surgery. She is 83 years old. She said Doctor and Staff made her feel very comfortable and relaxed during this procedure. She recently had cataract surgery performed on other eye. Approximately 4 years ago, I was referred to an eyedoctor (prefer not to name) for cataract surgery. Long story short, he botched both of my eyes, but continually told me I would be okay and that it would just take time...after many visits, medications and also the use of a contact lens, my eyes continued to get worse. I saw another doctor which told me I should see Dr. Bierly as soon as possible. His staff was very courteous and after explaining my problem, I was quickly given an appointment . Dr. Bierly examined my eyes and determined I would need lasix surgery to help correct the "botched" cataract surgery. He referred me to Atlanta for the surgery and I saw Dr. Bierly for follow-up; I have been a patient of his for 3 years. My eyesight is much better now and I commend Dr. Bierly for his insight into diagnosing and treating my eyes. I would highly recommend Dr. Bierly to anyone. He is a great doctor and is very professional, but also very personable and someone… whom I trust with my eyesight. When referred to Dr. Bierly, I was told he was the "best opthalmologist in the Southeast" and I totally agree!
