Dr. Shymansky had always been a wonderful doctor for over twenty years until Premier Medical Associates acquired his practice a few years ago. As a medical professional with a chronic neurological condition myself, it’s obvious that he has an overwhelming patient load and no longer is able to provide the compassion and time he once displayed. A recent phone call between myself and Dr. Shymansky resulted in a condescending attitude from him while ignoring my facts with his references to “bad medicine” and “two more patients waiting to be seen” type of comments as he abruptly ended our call. I’m very sad that Dr. Shymansky’s experience and ego along with the changes in insurance reimbursement have transformed a once excellent physician into just another satisfactory part of the health care machine.

Excellent physician & staff at St. Margaret's location (Lisa & Lamonica). Courteous, knowledgeable, pleasant staff. Dr. Shymansky put my mind at ease when explaining my current medical issues. After researching, I was hesitant about setting up an appointment. Reviews indicated comments that the staff was difficult & unpleasant. I was sure it wasn't the office I went to. My first contact was with the Monroeville location by phone. First call made didn't give correct information to schedule an appointment & the wait time to see the doctor. I can now use the Patient Portal for most of my needs,

I went to the emergency rom for severe anxiety. His partner did not wean me off my medication and I went through withdrawal. he was rude and arrogant. He refused to treat me and I missed 3 days of work

This is a teaching practice, Shymansky spoke to his entourage about me rather than speaking to me. He ordered significant blood tests; the results were handed to me by some assistant at the second appointment. He obviously thinks he's a big shot but since i don't enjoy or appreciate being a lab rat, i'm looking for another neurologist.

I saw this doctor before. I thought he was a great doctor! I went to an appointment 2 days ago. Had to wait a month to get the appointment. Took me a day to fill out all the paperwork. Plus multiple days getting test reports and his prior records. Drove a great distance being very ill. Paid the $4 parking plus money for gas. Only to be told when I got there that they had cancelled my appointment because their staff member couldn't reach my doctor's office for reports. I wasted a lot of time getting the reports that they told me to bring only to be told that they can only receive them from a doctor's office. They said the records from the hospital we were at were not acceptable either. They then lied and said they had tried to call my cell phone multiple times and kept getting busy signals. Meanwhile, I have voicemail and call waiting. There is no record of a person calling except for the computer service. It was interesting that their computer service was able to call me 2… days before to confirm the appointment and their human staff couldn't. They are very adamant about patients not cancelling so they charge you a $25 fee if you cancel on them, meanwhile they feel it is OK for them to cancel on you and not notify you! The bogus doctor name that they said they were trying to reach for my reports did not make sense, but they never called me to be sure they had the right doctor. Instead they cancelled my appointment without notifying me and already had it backfilled with my replacement so there was no doctor for me to see. They told me I could do the whole horrible process again and come back in another month, or see another doctor at another of their distant offices who has himself 1 out of 5 stars on most patient reviews. I am sorry. I came here to see my doctor, not a substitute. HORRIBLE OFFICE. If they treat their patients this way, I would hate to see how they manage your health! Maybe it is a good thing I won't be using their PREMIER MEDICAL ASSOCIATES Office in the future.

office staff was rude and unprofessional doctor was uncaring and called my issues annoyances. Follow up visits were with a PCA. Never saw the doctor after the first vist. Will never go back.
