Dr. Jonathan David Charen, MD

I was nervous about establishing a relationship with a doctor - have always had my BP refills done at Urgent Care places or by friends who are doctors. This man put me at ease immediately. He has a calm, patient, gentle attitude and a kind smile. So professional, yet profoundly human and good. And he made some excellent, much appreciated suggestions for diet modifications, offered new medication suggestions, and gave me a referral for a screening colonoscopy now that I am past 50. All the sort of uncomfortable things men experience during a complete physical examination were performed in a flash and were hardly felt. He is a gentleman of the highest quality, makes you comfortable, talks, listens, smiles, shakes hands, and you know you are being taken care of. I’d recommend him to any man who needs a primary care doctor.

I've been going to Dr. Charen for approximately 4-5 years now. He's always been very attentive to my illnesses & concerns. He listens well to my description of symtoms, is thorough with his diagnosis, and very good at taking time to explain what's going one with my health, in detail, and willing to answer all my questions. He's not rushing you in and out like other practices I've been to until I was referred to Dr. Charen by a friend. He takes a pragmatic approach to prescribing your care. He'll discuss the pros and cons of different options and how they fit with my situation(s). He seems very knowledgeable and up-to-date on current medical issues. He's not afraid to refer you to a specialist if he feels warranted. Will even suggest it as a consideration for you to decide for yourself. Dr. Charen is open and easy going with a great bed-side manner. Good disposition, never see him grumpy, he's always got a smile on and sees the positive side of things. I would recommend him… to a friend or family member anytime. The practice staff are all helpful, kind & courtious. Getting in the see Dr. Charen can be a little challenging at times (the only category I did not give a full 4 stars on), but when he's not available soon, the staff will offer alternatives within the practice. Overall, I give Dr. Charen a 4 star out of 4 star rating, and the practice itself a 3.9 star out of 4 star rating (only because sometime it's a little difficult to get in to see Dr. Charen soon.)
