Dr Justin Montanye, MD

I have been seeing him since i had two seizures and he is friendly professional and informative. I started having issues last year starting with diabetes and since then my health declined post covid. i have had to go to several specialist and he is by far my favorite. all around great guy and doctor.

I've been his patient for the last 10 or so years both for epilepsy and migraines. He's thorough and has a lot of ideas. If one thing doesn't work, he's on the next, until he finds what works. He wont give up which is so crucial, especially with migraine. He genuinely cares about how his patients are doing on the whole, versus just worrying about his own specialty area. He's a great conversationalist and takes time to get to really know his patients. I don't expect miracles, especially with migraine, but he works to make them as infrequent as possible. He's there when there's an emergency, offering a rescue plan during the worst of migraines. I can't say enough good things about him and I will follow him to any practice he goes to.

He is one of the most caring doctors I've ever had. He was more than willing to spend extra time after my diagnosis and treated me as a multi-dimensional person. He was very sympathetic and I wish more doctors were as caring.

listens before speaking, responds to every and all questions asked of him with a very thoughtful, quiet matter of fact tone. glad to be a patient of his.

Wonderful manner with me, a first-time patient. Answered all my questions in a manner that I could as a lay person could understand.

Not my cup of tea

I was very happy with my visit with Dr Montanye. I felt he took the time to understand my issues, and listened well. I never felt rushed. He took time to explain test results and and possible causes/diagnosis. One of the best experiences with a doc in a long time. Highly recommend

After I called after what the wonderful staff considered an emergency and he was to call me back same day TWICE after once having another small seizure and then after having a reaction to the seizure medication I was on, he failed to call me. I had to call next day, only to have him be rude, completely silent and not answer any of my questions and almost a bother like I was interrupting his breakfast. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR TO ANYONE!! GO TO YALE... I'm scared enough and this man had me in tears!

Dr. Montanye is now at a practice located at MidState in Meriden, CT. I have been suffering from migraines for years, but had never seen a neurologist before.Dr. Montanye has been awesome. He takes his time, listening to all of my questions and answering all of my questions in a language I can understand. He also asks me a lot of questions, so I really feel like he's doing a thorough assessment. He hasn't given up on my headaches. I see him every couple of months, and he is proactive about trying different therapies that might work better than the last. He has been very committed to improving my condition.I never feel rushed with Dr. Montanye, and getting appointments have not been impossible. He is very easy to talk to, and is extremely down to earth. I would recommend him to anyone who needs a neurologist : )

Excellent and caring doctor. He really knows what he is doing and takes the time to answer all questions. Young but excellent.
