Dr. Karla Rene Smith, MD

I met Dr. Karla Smith for the first time this morning. I was driving to another city for my appointments with my Primary Physician and wanted a change since I'm getting older. I'm so glad I decided to make an appointment to see Dr. Karla Smith. She was so nice, easy to talk with and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Dr. Smith I'm so grateful that you a are my new Primary Physician. Thanks so much for all you do in caring for your patients!

She doesn't answer questions, return phone calls from concerned patients, or give out the proper information needed after she has “diagnosed” you. I’ve had way better experiences at urgent cares. I’ll never return. She has mentally effected my life beyond measures.

Dr Smith does not listen to the patient. She has a routine of questions she asks having nothing to do with why u are there. I ended up having to go to ER to b treated after I told her my problem because she didn’t think I knew what I was telling her. She did this on another occasion also, she quick to jump to conclusions and her biggest problem is not discerning right judgments. She will not spend much time with you, she is definitely on production .

The worst experience that I’ve ever had with a doctor/person. I had a slipped vertebrae in my lower back she did absolutely not a thing to help. And criticized me as well while there. I don’t know what is wrong with her but she should not treat patients. Seeing her only proves to me, that the medical departments will hire anyone????

Making my first appointment was easy. Bethany Medical Center is one stop action. Everything was conducted onsite. The lobby was clean, quite and not crowded. Before completing the paperwork I was called to the back area. I was examined from head to toe. My neck was even measured. X-rays and bone density test were completed there. I recommend to family and friends Dr. Karla Smith and her staff. Great bunch of knowledgeable folk! I was there about an hour and I was extremely satisfied. My follow up is in two weeks for test results. All this was done on a Monday afternoon!! Oh, it's a medical facility so it was DEFINITELY COLD.

I truly feel that this Doctor paid for a Medical Degree. She is one of the absolute most horrible, incompetent physicians I have encountered. She appeared very uncaring in regards to trying to find a diagnosis for a "mystery illness" that I have battled for 6 months. I even made suggestions regarding Autoimmune testing due to all of my previous bloodwork being within guidelines, this poor doctor said " if I had more pain then that may be the problem". Really, idiot! She treated me as if I was either uninsured or on Medicaid. I have very decent insurance and no amount of money should keep people from proper medical care. I truly feel that Bethany Medical Center, intentionally wants insured Patients to come back and forth in order to make more money. The uninsured Patients are diagnosed and treated quickly from what I have seen. This is a money scheme at best! I think I will continue to drive back and forth to Charlotte where they realize that timely diagnosis along with… treatment, saves everyone money. If I could have rated her a zero, I would have.

Dr. Smith does not take time with her patients. She does not take time to listen about what your problem is. She has VERY poor bedside manner. I would not recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Smith is a great doctor. She is caring and makes the patient feel comfortable and she listens to the patient.
