Dr. Kenneth Michael Peters, MD

I recently had a cystoscopy, and had pretty severe resulting pain and discomfort within a couple of hours that I had not had previously with the procedure. I contacted the office same day and was told to get an over the counter drug to treat this. No change at all the next day, the intense pain remained. I was then prescribed by the NP a stronger does of same med. Still no change. Third prescription the next day. I finally got an appointment with an NP who did a urinalysis that didn't look suspicious, and prescribed antibiotics. She acknowledged that my symptoms were atypical of the procedure, The culture turnout out negative 3 days later, and I was called on a Sunday with the info, which I appreciated. The discomfort started to resolve nearing a week, though none of the drugs prescribed worked. I said I wanted to talk to Dr. Peters to understand if this was an occasional issue with the procedure, and to let him know how concerned I was that I might be in this condition ongoing. The… NP suggested I request a telemed call or phone call with Dr. Peters so I could better understand what occurred. His next phone appointment is 7 weeks out. I have been a patient for many years and find Dr. Peters to be patient, a good listener and compassionate. He is now inaccessible to his patients, and it is important to at least be able to communicate with your doctor personally, not always the gatekeepers. Whether this is a byproduct of the very large practice or Dr. Peters' personal patient load it certainly makes a patient feel like a bother.

Genuinely wants to help. Helped me out of a lot of pain with interstim surgery

I had constant intense pain everyday for a year and half. I saw so many Drs and none could figure out why I have so much pain. Some thoughts I am lying and I want drugs! But Dr Peters could help me to start living again and remembering how beautiful life is without having pain.

This Dr saved my life. I was in constant pain day and night. I was so disappointed from my life. I had a lot of Dr visits and no one understood what my problem was. I was living in misery and pain everyday. I am not completely pain free but I can breath and enjoy my life now. Pain is not taking my life anymore. And I have Dr Kenneth to thank. I hope he never retires! ;)

Dr. Peters is a kind and compassionate Doctor. He usually enters the room with a cheery "Hi" and a smile! He is very attentive when I am speaking to him, and takes the time to answer my questions. Dr. Peters offers options in treatment that best suit me and my condition. I always feel well informed after my visit. I am blessed to have such a knowledgeable, caring doctor. I absolutely recommend Dr. Peters for anyone suffering from Urological problems or Pudendal Neuralgia.

He is an amazing doctor, I was miss diagnosed when I was a teenager. And just two years ago he had found out that I did not have that and it was something simple to fix and I am so much better I have my life back. I would recommend him to anyone who has a bladder issue.

He is a very nice and caring doctor, but misdiagnosed me. He ordered a pelvic MRI for me. The results of the MRI did not match his diagnoses. He insisted that I do not have Interstitial Cystitis. His treatment for me was extremely painful injections. When I told him that the shots did not work, he had no other suggestions other than to repeat the painful shots. I never went back to him. I went to another prominent Urologist who specializes in Interstitial Cystitis. This doctor did a bladder distention under anesthesia and did a bladder biopsy. The findings confirmed that I had Interstitial Cystitis. Dr Peters has an excellent reputation and helps many women, but unfortunately it was not me. Even though he misdiagnosed me, I would still recommend him to others based upon his excellent reputation. He was not the doctor for me.

He is an excellent urologist. I have been with him about 15 years. Only see him about 1 a year for a check up, after the right treatment was found, and this was not a long process. Very nice and caring, takes all the time you need.

I went to so many doctors for many years regarding IC, enough said, pain unbearable etc. and we suffer in silence... when i first called his office, it was a two month wait to see Dr. Peters, so i scheduled elsewhere... then another doctor, an another, then drove to Dr. Meyers at U of M for about a year. They all said exactly the same thing, do all of the crazy practices and routines to keep the pain in check... it was awful! I figured U of M would have been the best. So i called Dr. Peter's office again and this time made the appt.Dr. Peters listens. He and his staff are so kind. Then he makes sure that he understands your condition and fixes it. For me, it was hunner's ulcers he found and treated... it is amazing today not to have the pain, i cannot believe i lived with it all those years. He had even recommended physical therapy after treatment for learning kegels (which i though unnecessary at first) and it helped so much to understand the anatomy of all of this so i can… be better and keeping myself healthy.He is truly the most amazing doctor i have ever met.

I seen this urologist from 2005 to 2008. Hewas a good surgeon. Other than offering inter-stim treatment he was none helpful.He was not smart enough in treating neurogenic bladders, and offered very littletreatment when the inter-stim failed. He is a nice guy and very forgiving of his patients.
