I came to Dr. Accola after turning down 2 surgeons after meeting with them. Following my due diligence, a Physician recommendation and office visits I had total confidence in this caring and highly skilled surgeon. My wrecked Mitral Valve was replaced. Fantastic Dr!!

Our mom was taken away from us, due to Dr Accola telling her and us that she was a great candidate for basic valve surgery. She did not survive even long enough to say goodbye to us. Basic valve surgery should not include death, and he just walked away with his hands clean. Beware before you or a loved one goes under the knife with this Dr.

Dr Accola and his team have performed these surgeries with great precision and success and is surrounded by an incredible team who I have had the pleasure of dealing with in and out of the hospital. Dr Accola and his team were a rapid response miracle. I have had no issues with the valve replacement they performed. I feel the work they accomplished was very professional, the team comforted my family while they waited in anticipation of some good news. Everyone in the waiting room that day received good news. After numerous surgeries that day, Dr Accola, with visiable strain and some tiredness in his face, consoled my wife at the end of a long day with "all is well and that I was gonna be just fine". Not only was I feeling better the next day, walking, climbing stairs, being restless, but because of such a successful surgery, I was released in a few days to be back with fam for another Christmas. And they keep coming! Thank you Doctor - from the bottom of my heart you are a true… surgeon both in and out of the operating room. Your team speaks highly of you and if I was part of that team; so would I.

I spent 2 hours to get there and 3.5 hrs in his office to be told he couldnt help me. His reasoning was explained to me by my cardiologist and i understand it but strongly disagree with his reasoning. I wish he would have explained to me himself so i could have explained how i felt about the situation.maybe the outcome would have been different

While testing for a much needed new aortic valve Dr.Accola discovered an urgent need for a triple bi-pass. This “widow maker” gave me no prior symptoms. His partners and staff are talented, compassionate and professional. Florida Hospital’s cardiac care unit is equally exceptional. J. Egan

Dr. Accola is simply THE BEST !!! He and his staff were kind, compassionate, and caring towards my family and I. They took the time to explain aortic valve stenosis, what our options were and what to expect before and after surgery. My family and I drove from Tampa to Orlando, to have him perform my surgery. It was the best decision to drive the distance than to stay closer to home for convenience. I recovered re-markedly well, which I attribute to the skill and expertise of Dr. Accola!

After waiting 3 hours in a room, listening to him coming and going from other patient rooms, Dr Accola spent about 5 minutes with us. Never even looked at my chart to see my history nor did he do a physical exam, listening to my heart. Extremely disappointed after all I've heard about this surgeon. He may be good at surgery but he has a long way to go in making you feel reassured about your heart disease.
