Theda care partnered with Sugical Associates will charge a $200.00 out of pocket "personal" fee. (In a demanding "Mandatory" letter) Its mislead to male you believe it's required to proceed with surgery. Infound out after the fact it is not. I have United Health care and they offer a post op program identical to Surgical Associates/Theda care. It is of cost to me. While "I was in recovery" I was handed a program schedule from Thedacare and it had not one available time for me to attend one meeting. If you work 2nd or 3rd shift and you paid this money like I have, you got scammed. I will take it as a loss but hope this does not happen to someone else.

Hello again....I posted a raving review of Dr. Wasco and his office staff sometime ago and would like to add additional information. First, I continue to give Dr. Wasco 5 stars. However, I am lowering the score on the insurance/billing section of his office. I found out, from my insurance company, that Dr. Wasco's office did NOT get pre-approval for my surgery. (I had specifically requested pre-approval or I would not go through with the operation - they assured me that it would be pre-approved. If it was not approved, they would call me to let me know immediately.) The insurance company told me that they informed Dr. Wasco's office of the denial when request was received (two days AFTER surgery.) The bill for my portion of the surgery was higher than expected so I questioned it with Dr. Wasco's office. The response I received was that it was what I owed and the message completely ignored my other comments/questions. Things were going so well.....

He made me feel so welcome. He is caring and he helped me tremendously. He has to be the best doctor I have ever seen.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Wasco. He explained everything about my surgery to my satisfaction and answered any questions I had. Surgery went well and he was there to see me the next morning for discharge. From his wonderful staff in the office to the surgical experience, I was very pleased with everyone's friendliness and professionalism. I would see Dr. Wasco again for surgery and would recommend him highly to my friends and family.

Dr wasco took time to make sure I understood about my thyroid problems. He came in to see me before surgery and after to make sure I was OK. I am glad I had him for the surgery and would go to him again.

I have had too many surgeries with Wasco, he knows how to cut, but is a complete jerk. Right out of surgery for Stage 3 cancer he tried to talk me into an unrelated surgery, I refused to go into the follow up appointment and his nurse tried to bully me into seeing him to discuss this procedure. I told her to tell him that I will call if I live though the cancer...that shut her up. He is only cutting for money and is an inhuman machine with no empathy. He treated me like a dog.

My overall experience with this surgeon was not pleasant. I would not consider returning for additional surgery. I never saw him in the hospital after my surgery. When I had a follow at the office, he rushed me in and out without allowing anytime for me to ask questions. Perhaps this surgeon should focus on QUALITY not QUANTITY.
