Dr. Laurie Ann Roba, MD

I had seen several ophthalmologist about my condition and was eventually referred to Dr. Roba. After reviewing reviews, I found most very favorable, with a few from those who can't spell quibbling about billing issues. My visit was prompt, concise, accurate with a rare diagnosis, and she was able to surgically correct my problem, something several prior ophthalmologists failed to determine. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Been going to Dr. Roba for a long time,both my husband and I.She is absolutely wonderful,friendly and thorough she takes her time with us and answers all our questions we wouldn’t go to anyone else.As for her office staff the couldn’t be more kind,friendly and helpful.????????

I feel that the doctor was not upfront with me said untrue things and the operation should have been done months ago they cancelled her out and never got back to us we scheduled a year later and now she can't do it and said we need a second opinion I feel she should refund the $40 we pay because she didn't do anything for us and I was very unsatisfied with her because she told me statements that were untrue stating we have 3 appointments we cancel and wasted her time and I never made three appointments with her all in all was not very satisfied with Miss Laurie Roba I went to her because I thought she was very good in her field and I thought she wasn't very professional in her office Manor

I called about a family member that I am on file of knowing about all medical care. My mother is an extreme worrier and I called to find out exactly what the doctor told her so I could take the time to explalin to her in detail to calm her down and she was so rude to me as if I was questioning her treatment, etc. She put such a spin of why I was calling and totally out of line I would go blind before seeing her. AND the receptionist was out of line as well!

I was dissatisfied with Dr. Roba's office office and billing management staff. When I questioned why a service provided was not covered by Medicare or by my supplemental insurance, I was told that such services were no longer covered by any insurance and that the service was automatically included as part of the exam. I was not allowed to question this practice and found the response insufficient and manner in which her staff replied rude. I am no longer a patient.

I had a previously undaignosed condition, which I had come to suspect through research on a related skin condition (rosacea) was, in fact, occular rosacea. I had been unable to find an opthamologist in Pittsburgh who acknowledged being familiar with the condition - only dermatologists, to whom I did not want to entrust the care of my eyes. I simply told her what I had learned, she checked my eyes, explained how rosacea affects eyelid glands, making their secretions thicker and therefore prone to clogging -with the resultant "sand-like" scraping (and bloodshot eyes) that I was experiencing. She told me to use warm compresses 2-3 a day and overcame my protestations when she prescribed Pataday (a new-generation of Patanol, an anti-allergy eye drop which had never worked for me.) I've taken her advice. The Pataday works wonderfully, even when I have to spend long hours in front of the computer. I would recommend her to anyone.
