Dr. Leena Sharan, MD

She did not ask me about my heart problems.

After meeting her I looked up her credentials. My opinion of the medical school is that it is one of the worst medical schools in the world. She did not talk about my medical problem and seemed to only be interested in me to have someone to bill.

I needed to be cleared by a cardiologist in order to have upcoming surgery. I have never been to a cardiologist. My primary care physician referred me to Dr. Leena Sharan at the Heart Place located inside of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano. My referral to Dr. Sharan is a wonderful addition to my team of doctors! Dr. Sharan is a very caring person with great bedside manners and a sense of humor, which is a very rare find! Dr. Sharan is thorough, knowledgeable, listens to her patient and answers any questions. It's great to have a doctor that actually takes the time to talk with you. Dr. Sharan will advise of any testing that needs to be done. Dr. Sharan's office staff is excellent! I passed the stress test and will be having the surgery. I also now have a cardiologist and feel really good about that!

I've been seeing Dr Sharan for nearly 10 years and I appreciate the time she takes to always explain my health concerns with compassion.

My husband saw Dr. Sharan for five years. He started at 39 with previous cath surgeries and two stents. Needless to say, he has a history of heart trouble. She seemed very attentive at first, but the more he saw her, the less attentive she became and soon it felt like she no longer cared. On his last appt. she changed his cholesterol meds and increased the dosage. Within days, he could barely walk. The medication was damaging his muscles. I called them daily for a week with no return calls. He finally took himself off the medication when it became unbearable. Days later, they finally called and told him to stop the medication. No other questions or concerns. They told him he would have to come back in to have his meds adjusted and we refused. We had his record transferred to Dr. Issac and had an appt in a few days. After Issac saw him, he scheduled a cath the same week. During the cath, he determined my husband needed a triple bypass. He was a ticking time bomb and I guess… Sharan was just going to let him die. I would never recommend her. We placed our faith in her and we were so let down and disappointed. Thank God we trusted our instincts and chose another doctor. I encourage you to do the same.

She is very thorough & knows what she is doing but has a big problem sharing what information with her patient. Calls are not returned, and I don't mean once; it happened over & over even after I complained. I don't know if that's her fault or her assistant's fault but I changed cardiologist because of this.

I scheduled an apt for an echocardiogram for 3:30. One of her staff members called me that AM and asked if I could move the apt to 2:00. I was not able to do so and did not call. When I arrived at 3:30 someone else had been moved to my spot and I no longer had an appt. THEY DID NOT EVEN BOTHER TO CALL ME!!! The next month I had an appt with Dr. Sharan for 1:15. I explained that I had already filled out all of the necessary paperwork. When I arrived, I found a full waiting room and was informed that my appt was not scheduled until 1:45. The extra 30 min that I would have to wait was to fill out paperwork again. When I asked for a copy of the forms they were the same ones that I had previously filled out.

She seems very inexperienced and lacks confidence. She is not compassionate and dismisses her patients' concerns.

Absolutely the best!!!!

She was very professional. It was good to see a young MD with such compassiobn for her patients. Was very refresshing.
