Dr. Lorraine Lynn Edwards, MD

Dr. Edwards may be a capable neurologist. However, her professionalism is in question. We sent a note to express concerns about our family member's neurological symptoms because we felt sure he wouldn't share all of his issues. We are included in his list of those with whom she can share his health information, but we were not asking that of her. We expected that she would consider the information we provided along with her professional expertise & first-hand knowledge of our family member to evaluate & make treatment decisions. What she did was shocking. She gave the letter to our family member during his visit! We cannot perceive any scenario where giving him the letter was necessary or appropriate and was likely unethical. Her action caused a rift between my husband and those of us who wrote the letter, was stressful for him, was detrimental to HER patient & contributed to his condition, was unprofessional, completely eroded our trust, and was beyond egregious.

Moved here from Phoenix, AZ where two Banner Neurology doctors did much testing including several Brain scans which showed markers of Parkinson’s. During initial consult with Dr Edwards she asked for their names. One was a Spanish doctor the second was from India. She made a face and did not write down the names I provided. She declined the contact information. She then told me to stand and walk to the corner of the small exam room, come back and sit down. Diagnosis then provided saying I did not have Parkinson’s at all. And that was that. She treated my Aunt who also had Parkinson’s, M. Skarin. My guess is Dr. Edwards will not accept the well documented and tested diagnosis of two foreign named doctors.

I know from having had other EMGs,Dr.Edwards performed my EMG brilliantly.Experience matters with these things.

Really bad MS “specialist”

My husband and saw Dr, Edwards for several years. We have no complaint with the care she provides. We do object to her billing practices. We were turned over to collections for a bill that was paid in full months before. Now she refuses to honor the plan discounts that our insurance company negotiated with her. We are receiving harassing robo calls from Central NE Neurology about money we do not owe.

Told my husband he had a benign brain tumor, it was cancer and he died

Dr. Edwards is obviously highly knowledgeable about neurology, and she is very easy to work with. She and her staff are very courteous and patient with me. Dr. Edwards treats me with respect and takes the time to discuss my situation, and she makes sure that I understand what's going on and what my options are. In my experience as her patient I have found her diagnoses to be spot-on, and her treatments to be effective.

The man that does the diagnostic exams is very rude and uncaring. The new P.A. is also drug pushing and rude. Wrote a letter to my G.P. about me because I would not take the medication. No one in this office is about patient relationships and their right to their care.

While I was very comfortable with Dr. Hastings, I felt that her nurse, when I called, did not take seriously my concerns about the medication she prescribed or make any effort to notify Dr. Hastings of my concerns and questions.

Dr Edwards gives good initial consults but has very poor follow-through. Medication prescriptions mailed to my home address are very spotty as to when and if they arrive. Dr Edwards changes my medication regularly without notifying me, after I have asked her on 3 clinic visits to continue with the original prescription she wrote for me. Office staff often make mistakes in scheduling and mailing prescriptions, never apologize for their mistakes, and blame me for their mistakes. I don't trust my neurologist at all, but I'm stuck because she's the only neurologist in Hastings.
