Dr. Marguerite Thomer, MD

If I could give a review higher than 5 stars I certainly would. Very competent, latest state of the art equipment and most of all: least amount of discomfort in procedures that have the potential for being very painful. I am most grateful for her knowledge and skills!

when i met her years ago i was so pleased. i felt safe. finally a doctor who listened. however with each visit the wait grew longer in lobby and room. i felt a distinct condescending attitude and saw the EYE ROLL when i asked a question about a med i had never taken. no calls returned. the last time i got in with a NURSE practitioner i was never seen. i was in pain i had to urinate badly and was left in the lobby nearly an hr. when i asked the front desk if i could just come back urinate and wait in a room i was told no. however i saw NEW male patients walk in and go back " i have to pee" .. door opened back two went. i called a cab because i could NOT drive home told the front desk i needed to lay down at home. they laughed as i walked away. i called BAYFRONT to complain the office ect. NOTHING was resolved. it was the worst treatment in 67 years of my life. went elsewhere the next day and was treated for my bad infection. overbooked ... and cold hearted is all i can say. i spoke… to ANOTHER doctor in that practice and he was upset at my treatment said he would let her KNOW .. nothing happened. i never expected it to happen because they did not care. do yourself a favor and check others out before you decide. spoke to a woman shortly after and she told me she was treated the same.

Dr Thomer visited me in the hospital when I was there. I since visited her office and found both her and staff to be knowledgeable courteous and professional.

My experience with this doctor is consistent with those expressed by quite a few other patients in reviews here: she rushed in and out on my first visit, and did not answer any questions, basically telling me to get an MRI and come back, though actually she flew out of the room without even making that clear--I had to kind of chase after her and then ask the staff at the check-out desk what I was supposed to do next. In that first visit, she was also quite condescending, rude and non-communicative when I managed to ask a question or two before she flew out. Second visit, I expected a more thorough visit, in which we would go over the test result, my diagnosis, and next steps. Instead, her PA (physician assistant) came in and introduced herself. I immediately piped up that it was my understanding that I was going to see the DOCTOR today, and I asked, will she be in after you? The PA immediately acted apologetic, said she would get the doctor, and left the room. I thought, this is… weird: my appointment is with the doctor and she sends in the PA? What? Anyway, then the doctor came in, and she had very good news, which was great, but instead of then staying the heck in the room for two nanoseconds to discuss the diagnosis and where we go from here, she just once again flitted out, so I basically chased after her again and asked what the follow-up would be. THEN, after all that, when I went to my primary care doctor (who had wanted me to report back to her re what happened), the primary care was all concerned, even though Dr. Thomer has assured me that the tumor was benign and very tiny. It turns out, Dr. Thomer had a typo in her notes and thus my primary care thought the tumor was HUGE, when in reality, it is tiny. My primary care showed me the notes and there was some other stuff really wrong in them, too. I'm supposed to go back to this doctor in one year for a follow-up, but I've decided that I'm going to find another urologist, as I totally agree with another patient's review in which she said that, if you don't like a doctor, don't go back--find another one--if you possibly can. Dr. Thomer came highly recommended, and maybe she is a good surgeon, but I can't stand how condescending, rude, non-communicative and rushed she is. No thank you.

when i met the doctor 2 yrs ago i had high hopes for care. she was lovely to me .listened and was helpful. second time i was met with WE DISCUSSED THIS. third time the eye roll when i questioned the a new med for a UTI that concerned me. told to get rechecked after. 3 calls later. no return call. i went to my gyno and got checked. TODAY was the worst. i got there at 230 in pain. i could NOT sit. i was leaning against a wall for 30mn. i kept asking if i could PLEASE use the bathroom. NO. two other men came after and asked to use the bathroom. they went RIGHT BACK. i left. i will NEVER go there ever again. the staff ignored my pain and the girl at the front desk said ANY SECOND Now. 30 min later i left so i could go home and urinate and lie down. i have called another urologist and will see them Friday. one more day of pain.. NO ONE should be treated like they don't matter. i am OVER doctors who overbook make YOU wait and then treat you like garbage.

I had an appointment with Dr. Thomer last week and was extremely pleased with her professionalism, personal attention and patience with answering questions. I didn’t feel rushed nor uncomfortable. I also had a very positive experience with the nurses and office staff . Thank you so much for the information and wonderful care

Dr. Thomer is very thorough, took the time to actually discuss my medical history and ask/answer questions. I have rarely met with a physician who takes as much time as necessary to go into such detail and offer advice and options.

It's been just a year since my TURP surgery by Dr. Thomer. Can't thank her enough for the positive results of diagnosis and treatment. I can truly say she changed my quality of life. Would recommend her to any male experiencing prostate issues. A definite professional and skilled doctor.

Dr Thomer saved my Mother’s life. Dr Thomer and her staff quickly searched for the reason for her illness, found the cause and put her right into St. Anthony’s hospital, suggested the best surgeon, Dr Giglio and between the two of them, saved her life. She would have died of Sephsis for sure. Thank you so very much Dr Thomer for being proactive in your care!
