Dr. Mark Steven Shachner, MD

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Shachner. He displayed a complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect for his patients. During my husband’s visit, he allowed medical students to observe without ever asking for his consent, which made me feel uncomfortable and disregarded. He did not listen to his concerns or take my pain seriously, instead offering dismissive comments and unrealistic advice about “finding help through pain management,” which has not been effective. This was especially frustrating considering he performed his original hernia surgery, and I am still experiencing irritation and discomfort. When we sought follow-up care, rather than addressing the issue, he laughed and told me to “hope for a better tomorrow.” That level of insensitivity is unacceptable from any medical professional. I would strongly advise others to seek care elsewhere for a surgeon who listens, communicates respectfully, and genuinely cares about their patients’ well… being. This man is not it!

Dr. S & Megan are life savers! They not only repaired my damage, the follow up was and still is fantastic. Would highly recommend!

Very good doctor, explains everything well, picked up the phone himself when I called the second night post-op. I would have given 5 stars except for one detail: The Hospital told me I needed to arrive 5 hours BEFORE the operation. I questioned this, and was told by more than one person that it was "what Dr Shachner wants". I did as told, and was quickly ushered through the admission process and into a bed in the pre-op area. Then I had to stay in bed for 5 hours, with EKG, IV, blood pressure cuff, etc....listening to all the conversations around me. This was terrible, uncomfortable, and emotionally disturbing. I was cold, but the plastic blanket they used was sticky and sweaty....just awful. I don't understand it. I was there....I could have sat in a reclining chair in my own comfortable clothing, free to use the bathroom or just get up and stretch. In no way is this anything against the doctor, but he IS the "captain of the ship". I think 1-2 hour wait is totally acceptable....5… hours was grueling, especially with the stress and anxiety just before an operation.

The Dr and all staff were knowledgeable, courteous, and professional.

I went to see Dr. Shachner 2 weeks ago for an inguinal hernia. He agreed to perform the surgery just as I requested and had me in for the procedure within 1 week. He did an amazing job. His professionalism, caring and compassionate manner are only matched by his incredible bedside manner. Simply put, Dr. Shachner is the best. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is in need of a similar surgical procedure.

JUST WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO DR SHACHNER FOR SAVING MY LIFE. I HAD A PERFORATED APPENDIX AND PERITONITIS RECENTLY. HE WAS VERY COMPASSIONATE AND KIND.

I suffered from acid reflux for years. My Gastronenterologist recommended Dr. Mark Shachner. Dr. Shachner performed hiatal hernia repair and inserted the LINX device. I have had a great surgical result. I no longer have acid reflux and I am off all my medication. I could not be happier with my results and would 100 percent recommend Dr. Shachner. My only regret is that I didn’t see Dr. Schachter sooner!

Extremely horrible doctor. He is definitely not educated and has no clue with what he doing. He just made me more sick. I recommend everyone to not go to him. Especially if you are getting your gall bladder removed.

I had my gall bladder removed because of some stomach problems. However, my stomach continued to hurt after. So I went back to follow up with him and he didn't care about anything. His words were "My job is done and now I can't do anything". This guy is a complete idiot and doesn't know what he is doing. I would never in my life go back to him. My gall bladder was completely fine, however he said that it should be taken out, and nothing happened. This just made me even more weak and sick. I would never recommend anyone to go to him, even if you are desperate. He is a waste of your time and energy, and he will just get you more sick. He doesn't know how to cooperate with his patients either. If you go to him, you will very much regret it. He is 100 % not educated on what he is doing. All he cares about is his money.
