Dr. Matthew Jude Deluca, MD

I had a brain injury and Dr. Deluca was extremely thorough regarding tests, examinations and disseminating the information to me. He gave me guidance, assistance and was extremely patient with me when asking questions or just wanting to know everything. I would highly recommend him as the office I went to in Rahway, was not only clean, the Secretary is more than accommodating, friendly and patient as well. There is more than enough parking and should you need Dr. Deluca, it's not hard to get through to him.

Dr. DeLuca is an amazing doctor who cares about his patients and gives them his undivided attention. He is caring and compassionate. He will do his best to make you feel like everything was done to help you! Love him!!

First time I called the office spoke with office staff in Bloomfield very pleasant and professional gave me an appointment right away. Pleased with the office staff and the doctor they should be more offices like these I highly recommend this office.

I called the Bloomfield office for the first time very pleasant person on the phone gave an appointment for the next day .filled forms saw the doctor and scheduled the appointments for me the secretary did it all wonderful girl very pleased with the office , definitely recommend doctor and the wonderful office staff.

I'm a guy in my early 30s and started getting a feeling on the side of my face. chest, and arms as if they were going numb. Not the full sensation of numbness but it felt like something was wrong, so I call up Dr.Delucha's office to schedule an appointment and to my surprise was told that I would have to wait a month for the next appointment, which i don't think is too much of a testament to the Dr.'s office but could be something with how many patients he has. So I asked for an earlier time and went in the following week. Got there around 830am and the staff made me sign the standard forms, no fuss no muss, and soon as i was done Dr. Delucha came out to bring me to the exam room. Told him my symptoms and he ran a few tests, one with that pointy stick and prodding the extremities, and checked other areas. For the most part he seemed straight to the point. Not really the most professional nor the worst which I think for a guy my age is sort of the best fit but I don't want to… encourage this candor to lead towards further lack of professionalism by my Dr. I voiced my concerns and he calmed me down, wrote up a recommendation for an MRI of the brain, legs, lower back, and told me to lets not think about the worst and wait for the results. So here I am, typing this review while waiting on their Bloomfield office to open so that i can call them and inquire about my results. Hopefully I don't get too much trouble with the staff but here's hoping I don't have any bad news.

Easy to schedule appointment , next day , very professional on the phone .

I was having horrible migraines during chemo. I called a few neurologist but they wouldn't see me for weeks, The doctor saw me the next day. He worked out a plan with my chemo to control the headaches . Five years later I am still seeing him for side effects of my chemo. I wouldn't see anyone else. Yes he does have his faults,but when the chips are down he is there for you. He answer more questions for me then my Cancer team of doctors did.

I think people fail to mention doctors are extremely busy all the time. He's very book smart and knows what he's doing, but sometimes may come off as rude. If I could choose between a nice, incompetent doctor, and a rude, book smart one. I'll choose the latter.

They are impossible to get a hold of and the answering service will agree as the Dr's office is never available. Have been trying to renew a prescription for a week to no avail. Very frustrating.

My husband sees Dr. DeLuca regularly for Parkinson's Disease and for rehabilitation from an intense back surgery. So I thought Dr. DeLuca would be ideal for evaluating ME for Multiple Sclerosis. He was friendly enough when he gave me the painful spinal tap procedure to detect MS, but his bedside manner became abrupt weeks later, when he gave me the results. He told me in one breath that I had Multiple Sclerosis, and also Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and he needed to quickly put me on a daily, MS medication that would require me to spend a day in a hospital, since the drug could lead to a fatal drop in my heart rate upon the very first dose, and I needed to see an eye doctor to ensure that my eyesight had not deteriorated from the MS, and .....My head was in such a spin, that I could not think clearly. I told Dr. DeLucca that he was giving me very difficult news, and...he actually cut me off as I was speaking! I cut across HIM, and continued speaking. I told him I was dealing with a barely… mobile husband, and now, my own illnesses. I told him I needed to vent. I stayed away from him for a while, and went to another, caring neurologist, a Dr. Blady in Glen Ridge, NJ. Dr. Blady gave me a second opinion. He said I should proceed with what Dr. DeLuca recommended for MS, but I should simulataneously insist that Dr. DeLuca also treat me for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, since CTS has long been a key complaint of mine. Dr. Blady recommended that I return to DeLuca, since Dr. DeLuca knew my medical history. So I am scheduled to see Dr. De Luca again, but I will be more assertive with Dr. DeLuca from now on. Dr. DeLuca is very book smart, but he lacks people skills. I will ensure from now on that he treats me with the respect and courtesy that I deserve!
