Great care

I visited Dr.Melanie Belt with a problem of an ovarian cyst that needed to be removed as soon as possible, as it caused me menstrual pain and was large enough for surgery. On the beginning she seemed like a nice, caring, professional and qualified person who can help me to solve my problem. Dr.Melanie Belt insured me that she will do everything possible for the surgery to be done soon (even if she clarified that she will not be the one who is going to perform it). I was totally fine with this fact, as I needed urgent care. The problem started within 2 weeks: nobody hurried up to schedule my surgery and never called me back about my next treatment steps. That situation made me to visit ARC personally to make sure what was going on. The answer of one ARC representative was very simple: " THE DOCTOR DID NOT ADD YOU TO THE LIST FOR SURGERY". That answer changed my attitude to Dr.Melanie Belt: "How a qualified doctor who cares about her REPUTATION and PATIENTS can be so careless to… her promises?" It is really sadly to realize that the doctor does not take responsibility for her actions, life of her patients and their future kids.

Listens to every single thing you say, and cares about her patients

I've been a patient for years with Dr. Belt. I'm having my first child this year and wouldn't dream about switching doctors. I feel very confident with her she takes the time to answer all my questions. I actually look forward to all my appointments!

I say that if your doctor a popular one you should expect a wait. My experience was great. She was nice and really listened to all my questions and concerns. She also explained everything she was going to do before she did it so there were no surprises. I learned so much in this visit and it was my first.

I was in need of scheduling an appt. re:some bleeding past 7 days. ARC scheduled my appt. with Dr.Belt due to need and availability. I was in/out of the office in a decent amount of time; however,my experience with Dr. Belt was traumatic (in my opinion. Dr.Belt was very brief & did not provide information re: my situation (i.e. possible causes,reading material,etc.)When she performed my physical exam, her bedside manner was very rough and somewhat uncaring. It felt as if she punctured me inside not once but twice. Even my breathing exercises did not help. Apparently my cervix would not open and so she said not to worry about it b/c she could prescribe medication for it. She asked me if I wanted medicaiton to stop the bleeding and I said yes. Then, sent my on my way to follow-up, which I refuse to do. I went to pick up the medication from the Rx and the pharmacist went over the medication. One medication was to help stop the bleeding while the other was to help open my cervix in 5… days. The pharmacist mentioned that the other medication would give me cramps like I had a miscarriage and as if it was for a D&C. I had not idea what that was, but the medications that she prescribed counteract each other. Needless to say, I am only taking the medication to stop the bleeding and am now in search of a new OB that is more understanding, professional, and caring.

Dr.Belt cared for me through my first pregnancy and it was such a GREAT experience! I had some minor complications but she made me feel safe and taken care of. Her first concern was always mine and the babies well being, and really took the extra time to cover all the bases.During pregnancy I moved over an hour away but changing doctors was never an option. I feel so safe and taken care of with Dr. Belt. No matter how far I move Dr.Belt will ALWAYS be my OB/GYN!

Brusque, rude, did not listen to or address concerns, did not follow up on providing documentation she said she would provide, rough!

Dr. Belt delivered my baby in Odessa, Tx 2006. She was my OB/GYN with 2 pregnancies..Very professional and very caring. I wish she was still here! I recommend her to anybody. She listens and understands your concerns. After my children were born she followed up and was still helpful and caring in my health and the wellbeing of my children.

I'm a 37 year old woman and have been trying to conceive my first child while under the care of Dr. Belt I have had two miscarriages one resulting in a D&C my husband and I inquired about lab work on the remains she looked at us like we were from another planet but did explain that we would do blood work to find out what was going on.A few days later I received a bill from a lab for biopsy on the remains ... I thought great maybe I will get some answers at the follow up appointment. Wrong!!! Waited for two hours to see her for a 5 minute appointment asked what the biopsy concluded she replied missed abortion and that was that. Now on to the blood work saga went in for my blood work was instructed that no appointment was necessary so I waited a few weeks and went in for the blood work they had nothing in the computer the lab tech asked me what I need done ..he was very helpful I say the most competent person in the office.. He instructed me that if abnormalities were found that I would… receive a call from the office of course I did not get a call ..so I called them I do have abnormal blood problems according to the nurse I spoke with she said she would pull my chart and Dr. Belt would call me back with further instructions ...did she ever call back ? No never not even a phone call ..the moral of this rant is if you would like to feel confident with your health care never go to see Dr. Belt .
