Dr. Melanie Midori Lau, MD

It's hard to believe that 4-28-11 review. There must be more to it because my experience with Dr. Lau and her staff has been very very good. Maybe you should talk to her about your billing and concerns? I used to hate these female exams with my first OB/GYN, who was male. His office atmosphere, patronizing attitude, and approach was dreadful. Dr. Lau is the opposite. Her office is more comfortable (waiting room is like a mini living room) and she makes you feel more comfortable because she is open and frank, but also funny and addresses fears. She takes the time to listen, even if you are disagreeing with her. I've had regular exams, prenatal care, baby birth, and surgery with her. She is smart, very competent, sometimes forgetful, but very caring. Tip: make your appointment way in advance (months), give yourself extra time to park, and understand that sometimes appointments have to be rescheduled because of emergency surgeries or because birthing babies do not adhere to… schedules :).

Dr. Lau spoke with me in her office first about my history and concerns. Then I went into an exam room. The visit was smooth & timely. I was very impressed.
