Dr. Michael Adrian Klufas, MD

My mother has macular degeneration and has seen Dr. Klufas twice for eye injections. Both visits left us deeply disappointed and concerned. The first time, she had severe neuropathy pain in her spine and thigh — so bad I thought she might be having a heart attack. When I went back for help, the doctor wouldn’t come out and told the receptionist to say it couldn’t be related and to contact her PCP or go to the ER. There was no compassion or concern at all. At our second visit, I tried to explain what happened before but was quickly cut off. The doctor seemed impatient, and the nurse roughly adjusted the chair without checking if my mom was comfortable. During the injection, my mom felt strong pressure and instinctively flinched. The doctor snapped at her, saying she has to keep her head still and that she would be very bruised. Dr. Klufas may look great on paper, but compassion, patience, and empathy are just as important as credentials — especially when caring for elderly… patients. Sadly, that’s not what we experienced here. There are several doctors in this practice, and my mom has now been rescheduled with Dr. Fell, who staff say is kind and compassionate. We’re hopeful she’ll finally receive the care and understanding every patient deserves.
