Dr. Michael Peter Koumjian, MD

I was referred to Dr Koumjian at Loma Linda during an angiogram. He worked very closely with my cardiologist. I saw him right before my surgery, after and everyday until I left the hospital. He is the best.

I was a reasonably healthy 58yr retired FireFighter. I had just finished up my morning run with the Furballs. Got home and didn't feel very good. Thank God my wife called 911. I was transported to Loma Linda Hospital.I thank God that Dr. Koumjain was available to perform the surgery on me. I had less than a 10% chance of surviving.He repaired my dissected aorta. Saving my life. It's been 6 mo to this day. I want to thank him and the staff for saving my life and giving me a 2nd Chance! Thank u Dr. K!!

Dr. Koumjian is the single reason I'm still alive. My esophagus perforated in 1994 and he was simply a miracle worker. It took a long time to heal, and I followed his instructions, and I'm in perfect health. Many other physicians that helped take care of me referred to him as 'the wonder boy' at thoracic surgery. I thank him, forever!

My husband had a upper right portacath which he requested not be removed on the advice of his oncologist. Koumjian removed this access port and tried to double bill our insurance. The anesthesiologist (under Koumian's supervision and not introduced to my husband or me) took over two hours to do a epidural. Koumjian was rude and uncaring regarding our concerns and didn't provide for follow up treatment. My husband had to suffer through the removal of over 46 staples from the incisions from the porthacath, (1/3)lung removal, and an oops cut of 4 inches in his back.If you need surgery and Koumjian is on the schedule to do it, be careful.
