Dr. Michael Paul Vrabec, MD

Dr Vrabek was excellent in my journey with cataract removal surgery and implanting Light Adjustable Lenses. I have poor vision that is complicated more with astigmatism and keratanosis. Dr. Vrabek took me as a patient, recommended my procedural route and now I have excellent vision with no need at all for glasses anymore! Also, the entire surgical team and the special doctors who did my light adjustments were fantastic. I am so thankful to everyone for my great vision now! I highly recommend Valley Eye!

I had to be there for my 1st right eye cataract surgery at 1:05 pm (I had not eaten since 8:30 pm the night before), they didn't take me in till 3:30 pm and I wasn't released until 4:30 pm. I felt sick when I left as it was 20 hours without food. Also the staff would not listen to me when I wanted the extra so I don't move and 2 people kept telling me that I won't be put out I told them I understand that. My left eye has worse vision than before the surgery. Had the right eye done and it is doing better but my vision is worse now after having this surgery surgery. Also when they look at my eyes they are always telling me the pressure in my eyes is high. I would recommend someone else.

I had a rather dense cataract and Dr. Vrabec helped me see again. Immediately after the procedure, I noticed more light (and that was before my eye shield even came off)!

I had cataracts removed in both eyes about 2 years ago by Dr. Vrabec. I also had laser to each eye recommenced by Dr. Vrabec. My results have been poor (as was the follow-up) and I continue to experience problems which unfortunately cannot be reversed - and I will have to live with. I now have terrible glare and a large amount of "floaters" constantly in my vision - way more than typical, according to my new eye doctor. Neither problem can be fixed. Both problems can result from either procedure - cataract removal, or laser. I was never told by Dr. Vrabec that this could happen to me. If I had been properly informed, I would have had only the cataracts removed and skipped the laser procedure. Unfortunately because this possibility was never explained to me I am now living with these consequences permanently. For anyone considering cataract surgery - get at least 2 surgical opinions and do a LOT of research about the risks of these procedures first. Laser cannot be undone. Be… smart. Don't end up like me. If any surgeon you consult (or his staff) talks about the "thousands" of these procedures he does every year- it's an assembly line - walk away and find another surgeon. If you have any concerns about the surgeon or the procedure-don't have it done until you feel confident about it. I deeply regret having had this surgery. I would never have laser again. And I cannot recommend Dr. Vrabec.

I always had faith in Dr. Vrabec over my entire life as they always provided me great care over the years. This past few months my views have changed unfortunately. When I visited a few months he insisted that I have eye laser surgery as soon as possible and use eye drops for the rest of my life as my eyes had border high pressure of 25 and 22. They also said that my drainage ducts were narrowing. I went to see the same doctor three weeks later. Both eyes lowered 2 points but they still insisted on the laser surgery. I finally made an appointment with an excellent eye surgeon that my mother in law was seeing for years. After seeing him and being monitored by him for 5 months my eyes both had consistent pressures of 18 and in all visits he saw no damage or narrowing of my tear ducts! Using over the counter artificial tears as he recommended and Ill see him one year for my checkup. I also saw another ophthalmologist for giggles 2 months later and both eyes were 18 in agreement of my… doctor. I would definitely get a second opinion before taking their advice. Also laser is not a guaranteed fix or a one time event. Beware. Ed.

Cataract surgery and multi lenses. Had it done 2yrs ago. Have had blurry,hazy vision ever since. Blurry vision worse than before surgery.Wish I would have saved myself some money and let the cataracts alone. Not Good!

My husband got LASIK 2 years ago with Dr Vrabec. I've also had the LASIK procedure, about 6 years ago, I had a good experience and my eyes are fine. However, after paying another $4,000 for my husband to have it done, he seriously regrets it. One of his eyes has been permanently blurry and extremely dry now. He has to take prescription eye drops multiple times a day with no relief, and we spent over $1,000 on a dry-eye procedure that did nothing to help. He's talking about needing glasses again! Horrible experience for him. He did not have dry eyes before this procedure, and they do a dry eye test as part of the eval to see if you are even a candidate for surgery. Dr Vrabec's office can't do anything for us. My husband said they had an issue cutting the flap on that eye and he's thinking something must have gone wrong during the procedure.

After 9 procedures including cataract surgery, my eyesight is worse than when I started. Egotistical!
