Dr. Milan Ramesh Patel, MD

After a thorough examination for potential cataract surgery, Dr. Milan Patel suggested a combination of a long-distance lens for one eye and a medium-distance lens for the other. He assured me this would enable clear vision without glasses. I agreed to have the long-distance lens implanted in my left eye first due to its significantly impaired vision. However, during recovery, I discovered that my right eye, being my dominant eye, could only accommodate a long-distance lens. This information was not shared with me prior to the surgery, which led me to question Dr. Patel’s consideration for his patients. Dr. Patel responded by stating that the lens selection ultimately lies with the patient. While this is true, a patient’s decision is heavily influenced by the doctor’s advice. In this case, the advice was misleading. Dr. Patel then suggested another surgery to replace the lens in my left eye with a medium-distance one if I want, at my own cost (Later the coordinator requested a huge… amount). He also claimed that his original suggestion was to use a long-distance lens for the left eye and a medium-distance lens for the right. This statement was surprising and raised doubts about his basic knowledge of eye surgery, or whether he was very careless and seemed to try to conceal it. Later, a coordinator informed me that Dr. Patel suggested a re-surgery for the left eye to replace the lens with a medium-distance one, and to fit the right eye with a long-distance lens in contrary to original suggestion. This confirmed a significant error on his part. The initial surgery resulted in severe dry eye syndrome, which would likely worsen with another surgery. However, Dr. Patel seemed indifferent to this, suggesting only the use of artificial tears without a specific treatment plan depending on the progress. Dr. Patel’s actions raise questions about his integrity. He made a fundamental mistake and appears to prioritize financial gain over patient health, which goes against the ethical principles of a doctor. This is truly regrettable.

Dr. Patel is a great doctor but his appointment scheduling is terrible. You can wait up to 3 or 4 hours to see him.

Dr. Patel had a terrific professional manner in approaching my eye issue which was a cataract. He performed a surgery and implanted a new lens and the entire experience was far easily than I imaged. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Milan Patel is a very good and best eye surgeon. I M very happy with my 2 eyes now.

The whole process was great. From the initial reception to the technician work up to the surgeon taking time to answer all my questions to the actual cataract removal procedure - which is actually painless - I would highly recommend this practice.

I waited more than 1 hour after my appointment time before approaching receptionist and asking if I should leave. I was assured me I would be taken back immediately, which I was. Unfortunately, I gave up and left the office an hour later without seeing the doctor. No explanation offered & no apology.

Dr Patel is one of the most amazing doctors i've ever met. When my mom went in for her cataract surgery, Dr Patel took time to explain everything about cataract and what my mom should expect during the surgery.Thank God the surgery was very successful and my mom does not even need to use her reading glasses anymore.I will recommend him to anyone who maybe trying to find a good eye doctor.
