Dr. Molly Elizabeth Ritsema, MD

My first meeting with Dr. Ritsema went very well. Wait time was minimal, staff was cordial and professional, waiting room was near capacity but the staff was processing clients in an orderly and efficient manner. I was already acquainted with Dr Ritsema’s skills as my wife had already had lens replacement surgery on both eyes last year. Her results were very good and she sings Dr Ritsema’s praises to anyone who’ll listen. I look forward to having better vision soon.

Dr. Risema removed cataracts on both eyes. I have new lenses in both. Before that I could not drive at night and had to use glasses to read. After the surgery I can read the newspaper without glasses and drive at night. I was restored to 20/20 vision. Hurray for Dr. Ritsema !!! She has shown she really cares about her patients. In my book she is the GREATEST.

I had double cataract surgery performed by Dr. Ritesema on Sept. 16, 2019. Everything went well, and I now have 20/15 vision. Dramatic improvement! I highly recommend her and am fortunate to have her as my ophthalmologist.

Promptness rating reflects that she takes as much time as is needed to properly and thoroughly interact with each patient, and I am willing to wait a bit for her competence and expertise - scheduling is set by the facility, not by her.

I had cataract surgery earlier this year ('13) in both eyes. The results were great, especially after 40+ years of wearing glasses, I no longer have to wear them except for reading. In addition, I have Glaucoma. As a result of the surgery the pressures in my eyes went up and Dr. Ritsema continued to see me long (several weeks) after the cataract issue. She worked with my medications until my glaucoma was back under control and then I was returned to the care of my optometrist. She was kind and compassionate throughout my time with her, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.

I called this office because I had just recently moved here from out of state. I need an ophthalmologist because of my extremely bad vision and gas permeable contacts - rather than most people who have soft. After wasting my time getting all my personal info, there were no appointments available for a month, and I was told that none of their ophthalmologists work with contacts and I would be seeing an optometrist. I've never encountered this before in 40 years of wearing contacts. What kind of reputable Dr. doesn't seem people who wear contacts, particularly a patient with very specific vision needs and instead pawns them off on the lesser trained optometrist? I would never consider using this practice.
