I called yesterday to schedule a colonoscopy. I asked if the solution that I have to drink is gluten-free or not. The nurse wasn't sure, and t hen the receptionist told me that it definitely was not gluten-free. I have celiac disease, so I can't have any gluten at all, no matter what. I explained that I have celiac and was told that I would have to drink it anyway, and there were no alternatives. Obviously, that's not a realistic option for me as I spend my life avoiding gluten like the plague. I immediately called a different doctor in Orland Park, and they were much more compassionate over the phone. They told me that they could easily give me a colonoscopy using gluten-free supplements. Maybe the receptionist doesn't understand how serious Celiac Disease is, but the idea that I would intentionally ingest gluten is ludicrous! I called back to have some files faxed over, only to be told that the solution actually IS gluten-free. Too late! I'm done. Sick of the lack of… compassion with southside chicago doctors.

I was a patient of Dr. Venkataramn for many years. i found him to be in tune to his patients needs. His bedside manner and his staff are great. i would highly recommend him.
