I have an illness that’s difficult to diagnose and to treat. I need the best without having to go into the City. Dr Mathenia listened to me and got me. His treatment is working quite well.

I have a difficult to diagnose and to treat illness. Dr Mathenia was my second opinion. Was I lucky! He listened to me and my needs and his treatment so far is working well. I didn’t expect to find someone this good so fast.

If i could give less than one star i would . Saw dr mathenia 2 times for the same issue. Ive had a medical condition that had not been diagnosed for three years and he was well aware of that. He just pushes you away with headache medicine for any reason. Doesnt listen, isnt willing to help, told him that my condition was not just a headache and he persisted it was just headache related issue. Not to mention the appointments are about 10 minutes long. Pushes you out the door with headache medicine. Never wanted to do any test to further examine what the issue could really be. Very un sincere , not compassionate, and belittles his parients. Highly advise if you are a female do NOT see this man. I had the advantage to see another neurologist at northwestern medicine and that nuerologist conpletely wrong. Everything he said I do not have I did end up having. This issue could have been resolved a long time ago do not go here waste of your time and money. Very very disappointing and… fustrating.

In this day and age when physicians tend to be more concerned about CYA and bending over backwards to the insurance companies and lawyers ( who are usually so very, very eager to chase one frivolous lawsuit after another) rather than providing exceptional patient care, here is an exception. Dr.Nick Mathenia. Highly recommend. Very, very personable. Speaks the language of the "common" folk. Good guy.
