Dr Meril is one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. She never talked to me, accusing me of “doctor hopping “ before she heard my story. She was completely dismissive and I have never been so insulted.

I have had several procedures with Dr. Merel over several years and I have always felt I was in capable and caring hands from Dr. Merel as well as the great staff.

It is not often that I can point to a moment when someone saved my life - but this is one. I was stubbornly putting off my first colonoscopy, despite many warning signs. After my initial consultation with her, Dr. Merel took the time to explain the importance of the procedure, helped me work through my reluctance, and made sure that I got it done. What she found during the exam was a large polyp that was giving me problems that I had mistakenly attributed to hemerrhoids. After removing it, examination of the polyp showed the beginnings of cancerous growth. Dr. Merel continued to work with me through further tests and specialists - again overcoming my reluctance. I was fortunate - the polyp had been removed in time - and the further examination of the surrounding lymph nodes showed they were clear. So no, I'm not "making too big a deal about this" - Dr. Merel's committment to my care saved my life.
