Dr. Nkechinyere Emejuaiwe, MD

I have been seen for over 10-years by a highly qualified non-VA civilian Rheumatologist with over 30-years experience. But in-order for the VA to pay for my continued treatment by my local Rheumatologist I was forced to be seen by Dr. E. All Dr. E did was question the prescribed treatment that my more experienced civilian Rheumatologist had been overseeing for so many years. The VA has communication problems on every level. They seem to be more interested in finding reasons not to cover the healthcare needs and there associated cost than helping the veterans they are employed to assist and Dr. E is no exception. She has NO bedside manner and she questioned the treatment regiment that my more experienced Rheumatologist prescribed. I know who is right because I know how much better my condition is because of the treatment I have been receiving for years. I do NOT trust Dr. E and the VA. The stories I've heard from VA workers are simply unbelievable and I've been told by them that it all… starts with a terrible director in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I'm screwed. I have to rely on a broken VA system and the doctors that have been infected by their environment. God help me and the veterans they serve as well as the good VA workers that work in that environment. If you can help it stay away from this Rheumatologist (Dr. E), save yourself. Good Luck

She did not listen, she did not explain anything and was quick to diagnose me with fibromyalgia without ruling out any another condition. Very disappointing, i really thought I was finally going to get some help. No followup and no advice at all.

Not a very good doctor. Is very mechanical and could care less about the patient.

I don't know where the hateful reviews come from here, but I have had nothing but positive experiences. The doctor is quick and to the point, not hesitant about giving good news or bad. True, she is not a "touchy-feely" physician and has a certain dignified reserve others may find off-putting, but as a specialist, in my opinion, her job is to provide that kind of care, not "warm fuzzies." She deals with serious diseases and treats them and those that suffer from them with the gravity they merit. She will listen, but she also expects compliance with her directives and believes in collaborative care. And, I have not been diagnosed with "fibromyalgia." I am very, very pleased with Dr. E, and I would recommend her to anyone with RA.

Worst doctor I have ever been to in my life. After she was rude, hateful and useless to me, I cancelled my follow up appointemt, I'm not paying a useless, rude doctor twice for the same treatment. No help what so ever. If I could give her no stars, I would, hateful, hateful woman, useless healthcare provider.

I would reccommend Dr. E to anyone. She is very professional and knowledgeable. She absolutely knows her stuff. She is straight forward and listens to your input. I am feeling my feet for the first time in 2 years.

Does not listen . She does not know a thing about Rheumatoid arthritis. Diagnoses everyone with fibromyalgia. Would not recommend her to anyone. Thank god I got the diagnoses from an experienced Rheumatogist!!!!

She did not want to take the time to listen to me. She was very matter of fact when telling me I have fibromyalgia and that it was pretty much up to me how well I do with it, but she did not explain exactly what that meant. I am now searching for another rheumatologist.

Dr. Emejuaiwe is new in Spartanburg but she is wonderful. I have seen her for the last 5 months and she is great.
