Dr Oscar A. Batista, MD

Oscar (I cannot call him a Dr) rarely made eye contact, dismissed my concerns, and kept looking at the exam room door like he couldn't wait to leave. He clearly did not listen because he told me to try some things I had already said I was doing. He did not ask me one question, though, to his credit, he was willing to answer my questions. He had no concern for my quality of life or the impact my condition has on daily living.

He was awful. I had no idea what was going on after my scope/colonoscopy. After 30 days of hearing nothing I had to call and schedule my follow up appointment. When I did see him, he was very vague and told me nothing. I had to ask him about my results and if I had Celiac and/or H Pylori and after he said yes I had to ask him what the treatment was. I would NEVER go to him again and would rate him 0 stars if that was an option!! He was so rude he acted like I was an inconvenience and was wasting his time.

Preliminary instructions and calls were informative and timely. Facility is comfortable and well staffed. Staff was very caring and respectful. Dr. Batista was very informative and covered the procedure before and after. This was my third visit and I will continue to use this facility and doctor in the future. I would highly recommend them.

All that was done for me was as I hoped. The finish up was a pleasant surprise with no discomfort. The doctor followed through with a report in the mail on time. Thanks to all.

I appreciated Dr Bautista's office reminding me of the need to schedule my colonoscopy. I had had one previously and couldn't remember when I was due for my next one. The instruction sheet was clear and the ease of filling the prescription for the prep was convenient. The facility and staff were kind and friendly, yet professional. I appreciated meeting with Dr. Bautista both before and after the procedure. I have a family history of colon cancer and I felt Dr. Bautista was particularly sensitive to this and as a result was thorough during the procedure.

The experience was pretty much what I expected. I was a little disappointed that there was no follow up to see how I was doing and if I was experiencing any complications. In the past when I have had scopes, a nurse has always called the next day to see how I'm doing.

Dr. Batista is very thorough and listens carefully to my concerns. He takes his time and answers all my questions. He explains the foods I should not eat due to my gastritis. He is familiar with my case and remembers me when I come in annually.

I had a scope and a colonoscopy done the same day. Dr. Batista and staff were very helpful and professional. The medication prep was detailed and understandable.

Dr. Batista consulted with me as an inpatient following an ER visit for a bowel obstruction -- twice now in a year. He represented my regular Gastroenterologist's practice group and was a calming voice of reason, concern and caution. Dr. Batista's PA also deserves kudos for answering the questions that arise after an unplanned event such as this. I am very happy with my regular Gastroenterologist, but am grateful that Dr. Batista and all the team at Utah Gastroenterology I've dealt with are top-notch professionals with a healthy dose of compassion.

From the time I scheduled my appointment to the time I left everything was organized. I received prep information before the colonoscopy in detail and a map to get to the office for the procedure. The staff was helpful and friendly. Dr. Batista visited with me before the procedure and after. I was given information to watch for any possible post complication.. Everything went well with no complications. I received a phone call to check on me after the procedure. I appreciated the good care I received.
