Her standard "sleep hygiene" advice was fine and correct, but didn't take into account of the fact that I had sleep disorders in the past and probably did now. After 2 months of trying my absolute best to adapt to a BIPAP machine for sleep apnea I have given up on being able to use it. I had a binary choice: wear the BIPAP mask or sleep. I chose the latter. She told me that despite being unable to sleep more than 2 or 3 hours per night that "sleep hygiene" dictates I must cut out naps during the day, cut out caffiene after noon, etc. After 3 days of that I was completely unable to function on any level during the day. Nobody can function on 2 or 3 hours of sleep per day. I run a business and don't have time for that. Going back to my old sleep disorder doctor in Baltimore.
