Dr. Patrick Joel Denard Jr, MD

Provided a detailed exam with professional diagnosis. This will be my second shoulder surgery with Patrick. I trust and appreciate Dr. Denard.

Talked about concerns and after joint dicussion, came up with action plan.

Dr. Denard has been my shoulder surgeon for at least 7 surgeries. I have no complaints really. He is like many surgeons no chit-chat. But you will have all the information and direction in post surgery. I agree about the pain med problem , again it’s understandable after years of people trying to get pain meds from several doctors at same time with”different” diagnosis!!! So he trusts your pcp to manage it after a few weeks. Dr. Denard ALWAYS asks if f I have any questions or concerns. I don’t want him to be my buddy I want him to use his expertise to help my particular problems. If I had a problem he wouldn’t be my doctor, after all we do get to choose!

Dr. Denard was a great help in giving me information about my shoulder injury; he read the CT scan and X-rays, determined my range of motion, strength, and degree of pain. I was happy to hear his recommendation not to go forward with surgical repair. Such advice is appreciated greatly, and is a sign of honesty in a surgeon, in my opinion. He gave me good advice going forward to preserve function. I came home happy I had driven almost four hours for this evaluation. It was very worthwhile.

Dr. Denard performed my reverse shoulder replacement in May 2026. This was the first surgery I had of many that went perfectly. The pre-surgical staff was excellent and everything went like clockwork for the very first time in my life. The anesthesiologist did an amazing job where I literally don’t remember anything from sitting up in my private room to waking up eating pudding afterwards. It went seamlessly for the first time in my life. This is how surgeries should be. This was. the first time I did not have nausea and was off pain meds within a few days. The pre-imposed protocol along with the post pain management was excellent. Surgery center was amazing as I was used to a hallway with a curtain instead of a private room that they have there! I even had a PRP treatment while in surgery on my other shoulder. My incision healed quickly and without complication to where I had no bandage on it after the third day. It was hardly noticeable within weeks. I’ve never had that… before. The surgical staff was amazing and they listened to what worked for me and it all went seamlessly. I would highly recommend the Surgery center and Dr. Denard for their competitive rate motop quality patient care. Perhaps the only negative was living out of the area and having to depend on staff for post Surgery communication that was sometimes lacking or incorrect. This led to misunderstandings and a lot of personal time having to address or correct things while recovering, which was tough on me by myself. I had worked to plan for Home Care and other things with my insurance, but wasted my time because of conflicting information from the original office staff compared to what was actually communicated post Surgery. That is hard to address when you are trying to get well with all the other stressors when you have no help. That being said, I believe they learned from that experience and am grateful my recovery is going very well. I have hope I will be able to get back to all my activities in time.

I really appreciated that he listened to me and answered my questions and was very kind and respectful. It really makes me feel more comfortable and confident that Dr Denard and his team will do a Great job when he does the right side rotor cuff .

Strong meeting with good feedback and fair choices to make. Felt his confidence and appreciated him letting me make my way. Operation Monday so all aboard.

Dr. Denard and his team did a great job with my shoulder repair. The initial visit was factual and informative. Any questions I had were answered in terms that were easily understandable. My final visit with Dr. Denard consisted of a brief physical exam followed by an ultrasound to ensure everything was as it should be. Thank you Dr. Denard for your technical acumen and expertise as a surgeon, and thank you to your entire staff. I felt well cared for throughout the entire process. I hope I won't have to use Dr. Denard's services again, but if needed I would definitely ask for Dr. Denard again. Highly recommended.

Dr. Denard and Staff including surgical team are very helpful and excellent in explaining what your diagnosis is and explaining what to expect before and after surgery if required. Highly recommend.
