Puxiao Cen, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Cen for 3 years now. She is so friendly and caring, it is like she is my sister. She takes the time to listen to me and respond to my concerns. My regret is that I did not start seeing her when she entered the practice.

I have seen Dr Cen for 4-5 years, my experience at my last appointment was very disappointing. She looked at an EKG sent to her by my primary physician ( who had told me I needed to follow up with Dr Cen as she noticed some significant changes),she held a recording device in her hand, asked how I was feeling, she did did not pay attention to my answer, never made eye contact with me, listened to my heart and told me to come back in one year. The whole encounter took less than 5 minutes. Very poor medical care.

Doctor Cen has been an excellent doctor. She listens and understands heart disease. She is very caring and compassionate. Dr. Cen takes time to ensure that I am okay and goes over all the test results when taken.

When I first saw Dr Cen, I was walking 45 minutes per day. Several months later, I could hardly walk at all. I became very dizzy after I started taking a blood pressure medicine she prescribed. I told her I was afraid of falling and that the medication had once caused me to fall, but she ignored my complaints and insisted that I continue taking the medicine. I was in my mid 60s. Doesn’t she know how serious a fall would be to an older person? Aren’t there a lot of other blood pressure medications I could have been switched to? Several months later, my dizziness had grown gradually worse. I finally switched to another doctor and discontinued the medication. My new doctor said he didn’t think I even needed the medication. Although I thought my dizzyness would go away when I stopped taking the medicine, it got worse. Soon I could hardly walk. A neurologist diagnosed me with hydrocephalus, and I had to have brain surgery. Now I am much improved, but I firmly believe that this medication… caused my hydrocephalus. I suppose she thought that all old people were dizzy. I don’t think she should be allowed to work with older patients.

I would 100% recommend the doctor I saw, Puxiao Cen, and also the facility to anyone! I went in to see Cen for ongoing heart issues, she was so sweet and friendly and took the time to talk/listened to everything I had to say, all my symptoms, and she really seemed like she cared. She described everything so clearly to me, and engaged in conversation instead of rushing out like I feel most doctors I have seen normally do. I wish she could be my doctor for everything, she is seriously amazing.

Dr. Cen saved my life. During my second heart attack she successfully inserted a stent and engineered disolving a massive clot. That was seven years ago; today my blood work is normal. Dr. Cen is a dedicated professional. Her gift to me is my life: knowing my 3 grandchildren.
