0 stars. can’t even rate him I went with a friend of mine who had some issues with shakes, headaches ect. A lot of anixiety. He was the most incompassionate doctor I’ve ever encountered . Walk in he’s on the phone. Hangs up no introduction asks why there as she explaining cut short saying he doesn’t treat this and that. Then he . Takes a call and walks out of room no explaination. Such a cold uncaring man. Didn’t even listen to her concerns. Since we found a amazing Nuero at north Suffolk. Night and day. When they say poor bedside manner well there you go. Horrendous experience .

The worst experience ever! Rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. I do not recommend this doctor at all. I have never been treated like that before.

I was interrogated by this man! He was so aggressive, rude, arms flailing as he’s screaming 2’ from my face “what do want me to do? Give you anesthesia?!?!?’ as I was crying. I went there in acute pain and he was so dismissive and invalidating. I was emotionally traumatized by this man who should not be allowed to practice. Do NOT go to this doctor.

After spending an hour with his Medical students, who i know were kind and eager to listen, Dr Pourmand spent all of 2 minutes reviewing and dismissing me before telling me he has no help or advice with my case. Having been recommended to him and referred to him i waiting a whole month to see him to be disappointed and frustrated. I was referred to him after having multiple episodes of muscle spasms, muscle pain and muscle weakness that has brought me to take time off work and education because of the pain. I presented myself in his office with all the medical imaging and information he could need only for him to walk in and tell me he can't help and to see someone else. Understandably i get if i was not in his range of practice that he could offer advice but as a doctor he acted disinterested and cold towards both my family member and I. Confused as to why we were told he could help he did not answer any of our questions as to what maybe causing my pain or any advice on how to move… forward. I was simply dismissed and told to try another Stony Brook doctor, whom i will have to wait another month and a half to get into see as a consult. He walked into a young girl with hope of finding any answer that could help and with his horrible bedside manner and rushed, uninterested attitude has completely left me feeling hopeless. There was no explanation or guidance. No thought of how he could help me, just that someone else might. Complete waste of a 4 weeks of pain, missing work and school all to lead up to a disconnected, unhelpful and disheartened physician. Even if he couldn't help my case, his knowledge and connection to other doctor could have helped me find answers. He choose not to do so. With the stony brook name next to him, we expected at least some clarity. After that experience its hard press to wait on seeing another Stony Brook doctor.

very kind demeanor and thorough in his examination

I wrote a review on Sept. 17. I had a wonderful experience my first visit and still have only great things to say about Dr. Pourmand for my second visit. I read some of the past reviews for Dr. Pourmand. Did these people see the same Dr. I did? If you are looking for a professional, caring and knowledgeable doctor please see Dr. Pourmand.

I found Dr. Pourmand to be very professional and compassionate. He listened to what was bothering me, asked questions and made me feel very comfortable. Explained a course of treatment and ordered MRI. Went to him feeling nervous and concerned , left feeling reassured. Great experience for a first visit!!!

I am very pleased with the care I am receiving from Dr. Pourmand. He is both knowledgeable and professional. His office staff is wonderful and I would highly recommend him for your neurological needs.

I went to see Dr. Pourmand yesterday for the first and last time and was blown away with his unprofessional demeanor. He was insulting and showed absolutely no empathy for the crippling pain I have in my legs. He said he doesn't know what I can do for it and asked me what do I want him to do? He asked me nosy questions that have absolutely nothing to do with my visit. When I asked about medication and it's possible effects with other medications I am taking, he said he didn't know!!! This quack should not be practicing medicine!! If I could submit this with "no stars" I would. He doesn't even deserve the one star that I can't delete!!!

I found the Doctor to be very professional. He is perplexed at my condition and has ordered tests to see what is up. At no time did I feel insignificant or uncomfortable.
