Dr. Ravi Ramaswamy, MD

Dr. Ramaswamy is one of the most caring and knowledgeable doctors I have ever met. He listens to you, he pays attention to you and your symptoms and ailments. He finds solutions. He steps in when he thinks another doctor is not doing the right thing. Soft spoken and thoughtful, this is a doctor you can really trust.

This is NOT the same man as the Doctor who runs the Saugherties Wellness Center. That is over an hour away from this office and to my knowledge has nothing to do with Orange Nephrology (Dr. Ramaswamy's practice). I have been a patient there for 2 years and know people who have been going there for about 10 years. -------------------------------------Dr. Ramaswamy is a caring and patient person as the previous review described. The office staff is also knowledgeable and friendly. -------------------------------------At this moment (March 2010) there's about 2 weeks wait for an appointment generally, which is not too bad considering how popular this office is. I go there as a primary care patient, not for nephrology. He's handled everything I've thrown at him medical wise and solved all but one thing (which was really outside the scope of his practice anyway). He's an old fashioned dr who will take your blood pressure himself and they keep appointments written down in a book, not in… a computer. I would certainly recommend him, and I have to my friends.

I was scared about my kidneys after having been on medication for bipolar disorder for 25 years at least. Dr. Ramaswami showed me numerous diagrams of the kidneys and explained what each part did.He was patient when I interupted him and in the end made me feel hopeful just in the extreme knowing that was how I felt then,when the results came back he took a long time to urge me that I was ok,and that my kidneys were fine. I am going to send this doctor my album that is coming out in 3-4 weeks.He is a highly knowledgeable and fortunately snesitive man and I would reccomend him to anyone.
