My Mom (87 years young)) is a patient of Dr. Sanders. Dr. Sanders treated my Mom with so much love. You would have thought she was her son. She loves him so much. Thank you Dr. Sanders, you put a smile on my Mom's face. She calls you her Dr. Friend.

My recent visit with Dr. Sanders re-confirmed my excellent progress since my left eye retinal surgery for a detachment about 2 years ago. Dr. Sanders is top-notch, and I feel I could not be happier with any other retinal specialist. I've been blessed to be one of his patients.

I have been a patient of Dr. Sanders for over 6 years. Receiving an eye injection (every 6 weeks) to address a retinal occlusion. The visit requires testing which is thorough and with the administering of drips the discomfort is only a bit of pressure felt NOT PAIN at all. I find the staff helpful and caring as well. He is a special caring doctor and you can be assured he's knowledgeable as well.

My experience with the Retina Group of Washington over the past 18 months has been above reproach. Everyone there, from the back office to the doctors I've seen, has been friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. Dr. Sanders is still new to me (my original doctor took maternity leave) but he also fits the profile: friendly, easy to talk to, and expert in his knowledge. It takes a lot of trust to allow someone to stick an needle in your eye every four weeks, and I no longer even think much of it. I can't give higher praise than that.

So glad I found this doctor! I searched the DMV for ophthalmologists who specialized in pediatric patients with an underlying medical condition and found Dr. Sanders at The Retina Group of Washington in Greenbelt. I was seen the next day after I made the appointment. At my appointment, I was greeted by friendly staff and appropriate tests were performed. Dr. Sanders met with us after the tests. He introduced himself and calmed my child with his friendly demeanor and small talk. Dr. Sanders clearly understood my child's medical condition and its impact on the retina and vision; he reviewed the tests and gave clear concise dictation while we were in his presence. He demonstrated what he was looking at during his examination with an age appropriate model of the eye. I learned so much during that visit that I made an appointment for myself with him.

I have been a patient with Dr. Sanders for ten years due to a retinal detachment. He is very patient and always answers my questions very clearly. He is genuinely concerned about my eyesight .

Dr. Sanders saved my right eye and I am forever grateful. I suffer from glaucoma, for which I was treated with a surgical trabeculectomy many years ago to relieve the pressure. As often occurs, the eye was subject to infection when exposed to external bacteria. The result was sudden loss of all vision in the right eye within a 12 hour period. My regular glaucoma doctor examined me and immediately referred me to Dr. Sanders for emergency treatment, who fortuitously was operating nearby. Dr. Sanders cleared the decks and within less than an hour he was treating the eye with a procedure that removed large parts of the infected material. Within several weeks all vision in the eye had returned to normal. Since then Dr. Sanders has kept close tabs on me and I feel I am in excellent hands.
