Dr. Reo Malachi Peniston, MD

Terrible staff they do not follow through and send paperwork to help their patients. Been awaiting a form to be sent for my dad to the Saunders Orthotics. First they fax to a wrong number this took 2 weeks to do and now we are on a month and what is faxed is cut off each time. Asked referrals to paper mail or email Saunders they continue to put me on hold pass me to one operator then another and another and eventually they hang up on me. Terrible terrible. Sick to my stomach . Plan to find a more caring place for my dad.

Staff cannot fax a simple piece of paperwork incredibly rude and unprofessional. Been trying to get a simple form filled out for my diabetic father. Terrible terrible. One month still can’t get it right and was just hung up on by a staff member. Shame on you guys.

Just recently I went to Rome Medical Group for emergency healthcare. Little to my knowledge did I know Convient Care stop taking walk in patients, due to the overflow of patients coming at random and not enough time in one day to see all the walk in patients. I must say, to my surprise I didn't expect to be seen for my emergency health crisis. Being a patient of Dr. Reo Peniston, I was able to be checked out by him. When he noticed the swollen of my calves and ankles, the first thing that came to his mind was possible fluid on my heart as well. He did some tests for my breathing problem, but found it was a strong possibility to be much more than that and decided I wasn't going home to take a risk of a heart-attack. So, he called an ambulance and I chose to go to Faxton, St. Lukes Hospital. Once I arrived there, I was immediately given the full attention of having some tests done to find out exactly what was wrong with me. The EMTs had a feeling I had fluid on my heart as Dr. Peniston… did in Rome NY. After immediate attention with different tests done to see if I had fluid on the heart. They found my only endangerment was the fluid in my ankles and calves. So I was treated immediately for my problem. However, I was told if I had gone home without the inpatient treatment, I could have possibly ended up with fluid on my heart, which was ahigh risk for a heart attack endangering my well being. Dr. Peniston, thank you so much for showing your care and concern for my health. As far as I'm concerned, you saved my life. Also tell Karen thank you, too.

When I first saw Dr.Peniston for my healthcare provider, we were ok in the beginning, in the year 2014. Then shortly after being his patient, we had a communication problem with the services I needed to have rendered. But, things worked after a while. But, his nurse Karen placed judgment on me, treating like I was a problem for her to take of in healthcare services. Right from the beginning of Dr. Peniston's services she had me pegged as someone who may have hurt her in the past or something of that effect. But,I never knew her before that time. As law abiding citizen I never felt so humiliated for the treatment she gave me. But, also as a Christian, I prayed for her and forgave her. However, a nurse friend of mine was a patient of Dr. Peniston and from the mental abuse Karen had done to her.It drove her to having incompetency with her life had much fear from the treatment. The 86 year old woman ended up in a nursing home afraid of others who may abuse her as Karen did. I'm God fearing… man, and I'll continue to pray for karen, in hope she'll turn over a new leave.

I have been to his office 3 times after. His nurse was miserable each time. He was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable I loved my prior physician and his staff. Unfortunately when he relocated I needed to find a new provider. I met Dr. Penniston in the community. He seemed very nice. When I needed to find a doctor I went to him. He was pleasant and seemed to know what he was doing. However his nurse was VERY miserable. At first I thought must be a bad day. The next time I went there she check my vitals. She was not wearing a watch yet she acted like she was checking my pulse. She pumped the BP cuff up to around 150 then let the air out so fast there was no way she could have heard anything. When Dr. Penniston came in he said my BP was still highâ?¦ He said it was 190/ 90. I told him what happened. He rechecked my BP said he would take care of it. The nurse is still there. Now she was even ruder- if that was possible. I will never return

I went to Dr. P when my menstrual cycle stopped. He insisted I was pregnant, and I insisted it was not possible, for the obvious reasons. He told me I was lying and to have my mother leave the room so I would tell the truth. My blood test came back, and he just said "oh you're not pregnant." He then prescribed me birth control, and when I asked about possible side effects he brushed me off saying don't worry every girl takes this and dismissed me. A while later I had my gallbladder removed. It was full of stones. Due to birth control.The next time I very reluctantly went to Dr. P, I had a sore throat for almost two months (no health insurance, and like I said, reluctant). He did a throat swab, said I was fine and promptly sent me a $100 bill for his grievances- I mean services. I kept telling him that I could see something that should not be in my throat, and he just brushed me off once again. When I went to have my gallbladder removed, the anesthesiologist saw something in my throat… that should not be there. I had it removed almost a year after Dr. P insisted I was fine. He doesn't answer questions, he prescribes what's popular and easy, and he ignores serious complaints. I refuse to use him ever again.

I use Dr Peniston as my Pediatrician. Over all I think he is decent.

Dr P is very caring and kind. He took the time to call me at home to make sure I was okay after a hospital visit.

I recently felt a lump in my jawline nothing visible on the outside felt it when i was applying makeup and thought it should be checked out I hadnt had a general practitioner in a while because I am having the hardest time finding a doctor that isnt a nutjob or just sucks in general. i was told about this doctor by someone at work so I thought what the heck they said he was excellent. I soon found out that my version of excellent and theirs are really really different. his bedside manner is appalling now mind you this is the first time i have went to him they didnt do any test or routine blood work all they did was get my wieght he came in a said without eye contact his name and then proceeded to ask me why I felt the need to be sitting in front of him today! I then explained to him that problem and another all while he was looking at my chart and said hmm your bmi(body mass index) is high and proceeded to talk to me about weightloss..and also asked me if I wanted an HIV test quite a… few times being that they are now given free there.he couldnt find the lump so I had to show him and then he didnt talk at all to me about it he only stated that he was having to reffer me to a plastic surgeon because if it needs to be removed no regular surgeon will touch it, I then found out that my appointment is TWO MONTHS out from now because he told the plastic surgeons office that it was only a superficial legion so basically not that important...I am going to a different doctor now that is a doctor to a family memeber and hopefully he or she knows what they are doing this time..but defiantely will NEVER EVER return to see him
