Dr. Ricardo Francisco Nieves-Ramos, MD

Dr. Ramos, I waited maybe 5 minutes from check in. (was actually completing forms during that time) Once in the examining room, the wait was maybe 2-3 minutes. He spent time to understand my pain and had obviously reviewed my chart. We were in agreement on the next step in my treatment plan. A plan that is not the usual pills, acupuncture, rehabs, chiropractic, epidurals, discectomy, etc. I have exhausted those treatments over the last 40 years. While these treatments may ease pain and I am grateful for them. At this point, I am willing to try a more modern approach. Dr. Ramos was professional, knowledgeable, well spoken and considerate. I look forward to working with Dr. Ramos and his staff.

I only saw him twice. First visit was fine. Spend time to listen, agreed that a spinal shot would hopefully help but even added, no guarantees. I was fine with that. The shot didn't work. The follow up meeting was like Twilight Zone. Was agitated from the start - asking ME where my files was, very snippy with the nurse who helped me, told me he was a spine guy and my main pain is in my hip. He couldn't or CLEARLY didn't want to take the time to figure it out. When I read the follow up from my visit - it got weirder! We went on about he talked to me about smoking for 3-4 minutes -never happened I don't smoke - never have. During our first visit in mentioned looking him up and he immediately defended the negative reviews, stating they were from drug seekers. I can assure you - that is 100% not the case with me. You deserve better.

Do yourself a favor- and find other alternatives, unless you are fine with being treated like a "sardine in a crowded tin can" via a doctor who is "stacked and backed", and totally overbooks, come time for your procedure, after being scheduled far out. Awful, Awful Experience!!!! Today, I went to have my si joint procedure/injection performed by Dr. Nieves Ramos, at the Surgical Center in Lake Mary, Florida, on St. Charles Court. After having fasted for nearly 15 hours, I was more than eager to get set up for my full sedation and procedure. Well, unfortunately, a complete no go, due to "the doctor is running way late", along with a most incompetent staff. Just a simple phone call would have been nice, telling me either "we are running hours late" and or telling me, "Sorry Mr. Silver, we just can't get our stuff together, today", versus expecting my companion and I to wait hours and hours, with excuse after excuse, especially as I had not eaten, despite driving from… Altamonte, on an empty, growling stomach. It is most obvious that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, and the last thing I want to be is their "end of the day rush job." Heck no.... 2 failed back surgeries prior, and now this??? You've got to be absolutely kidding me. So there you go, "enter at your own risk and take your chances" or choose to be smart and avoid this doctor and facility all together, and at all costs. So much to go and get a consult, to then get jerked around come Procedure day...Never, Never agian. Don't say you weren't warned. Scott Silver

Ramos is forcibly tapering chronic pain patients from desperately needed opioid medication strictly out of fear for his license and complete ignorance of CDC guidance. He is unnecessarily risking the lives of suffering patients Many of whom rely on these meds to have at least some quality of life and relief from searing relentless 24/7 pain. Instead of doing even cursory research into CDC guidelines, he’s chosen to recklessly taper and refuses to listen to the pleas of his patients. Zero compassion and empathy for patients fighting horrific pain.

I love him! He listens and he tries everything he can do to help without putting me on lots of pain relief that will just get me addicted! He definitely has your health and well being in mind. We always have great conversations and he makes me feel comfortable! He is an awesome doctor and man!

Seems arrogant. Doesn't listen. Talked too much about how great he is instead of actually being great. Condescending.

What can I say, he talks, he listens, we talk about him, sometimes me. Its a great adventure.

Went to Dr Ramos about a year ago , he has always been professional, caring and a courteous.

Dr. Nieves-Ramos is well qualified as a board certified pain management physician, Spine Institute in San Diego, CA. Now relocated to Orlando. Amazing MD!
