Dr. Rick Lee Jenkins, MD

Dr. Rick Jenkins is caring and intelligent. Don't expect him to do too much chatting. He does ask the questions needed to determine a good medication plan. He plays loud music in his lobby to insure privacy of patients. The classic rock is especially fun. If you can't come in, you may be able to get a virtual appointment.

A wonderful doctor. Professional yet caring and always thoughtful. Thank you for always being there for me as your patient, it has made a huge difference in my life. The supportive atmosphere and being treated as human being can be rare with some Dr’s so I am very grateful.

Dr. Jenkins unlawfully held me against my will, drugged me as well as multiple documents falsified when he spent less then 5 minutes with me over the course of 3 days. There were no patients rights advocates information given to me. The social worker who was assigned to my case verbally told me “you don’t belong here”. The Dr. refuses to release the 5150 when records have been requested. I was not evaluated by Dr. Jenkins or team as is required by law. The mental hospital lied and said police had 5150 me but upon request of records police confirmed they did not, there is not even a report. Upon confrontation with this information they backtracked and said they (facility) had 5150 but medical records show a police 5150 which is also falsified information.This has caused much mental anguish and frustration that any Dr would betray his oath and commit fraud by falsifying documents stating sessions that were never had. Staff at facility (College Medical Center) forged my signature on… multiple documents. This has effectively violated my civil rights and removed my right to bear arms promised to me under the constitution. Additionally I want to prevent this type of medical tyranny and harm caused to any other patient that may actually need mental heath services by a ethical practitioner. This facility and this doctor should be reprimanded, damages should be paid including removal of the debt, and damages to my civil rights as well as a full retraction and a reinstatement of my civil rights. No heath facility should be abusing their powers with no legal ramifications. I desperately want to warn any patient of his unethical and borderline if not outright criminal proclivities as this man has caused so much damage to me and I’m sure countless others as I am an intelligent mentally sound individual so I certainly can’t be in the minority. He took advantage of me in a very grievous time after losing my sister to suicide and had the audacity to lie and say that I told him I was suicidal. Outright LIES. I never had suicidal ideation my therapist can confirm and I all documentation to support and prove my claims stated. The medical establishment including the Medical Board of California has protected this monster and has proven their illegitimacy in patient protection and advocacy. This is abhorrent that this type of behavior can go unchecked. Additionally look at his picture. The man can’t even dress professionally, he acts exactly like he looks a bully and a goon. Shame on you Richard Jenkins you are a doctor in title only as your ethics belie your oath to cause no harm. May God have mercy on your soul.

Call office the day before to confirm appointment, the office states they see the appointment but don't know if the doctor will be there. This should have been an immediate red flag. The office is in Long Beach and do not have a contact for the Beverly Hills office, but stated they will let me know if the appointment needs to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation. Call 1hr before appointment, they still do not have an answer and state someone will call immediately. I waited a month for this appointment, so I drive there and to received by a secretary stating the Doctor will be 45min late. I actually wait 45min, to which the secretary replies she doesn't know as she cannot get hold of Dr.Jenkins. Listen to other reviews on other websites, this doctor is a complete waste of your time and money. Please look elsewhere especially those who may have serious conditions.

I’ve seen various psych doctors for battling my depression and chronic fatigue, Dr. Jenkins exceeds my expectations and is truly a great person to work with.

one of the worst experiences I've had with a psychiatrist in 20 years. less than 10 minute assessment (first time visit). In the 15 minutes before me 4 people went in and out with prescriptions. Will NOT give refills; you must come in every month and will charge you 40 dollars for him to call in the pharmacy for medication if you can't make it to your next visit for some reason. He is dressed sloppy and barely paid any attention - including answering is cell phone during the session. YES REALLY. My name was misspelled on the prescription so he had to redo it. The woman at the front was NOT friendly. I truly do NOT recommend him. Oh - and even with having everyone come in every month - he still was the only one on my HMO that had space for me to come in within a few months... .

Doc is great. gives me what i need to continue to develop. understanding man.

This was my first time ever seeing a psychiatrist and was extremely unimpressed by DR. Jenkins. I seemed more alert, engaged, and attentive than this guy. I felt extremely disappointed after seeing him. I feel as if he had very little clue what he was talking about, nore did he seem confident that he could help me or the medication he prescribed. In our 5 minute conversation, I got very minimum eye contact. I do not think anyone should see this psychiatrist. Plus, the office decor and way patients seemed to slip in and out was sketchy.
