Dr. Robert Alan Shaw, MD

I have been going to Dr. Shaw for the last 10 years or more. He has been wonderful. It was because of Dr. Shaw that I was finally diagnosed with a rare muscle disorder on top of my arthritis. He insisted that I have the muscle biopsy the confirmed my muscle disorder. I can't speak enough the quality of care that I have received by him and his staff.

I sure hope he treats his regular patients better than he treated me on the phone. He was covering for my doctor, who was on vacation. When my labs ordered by their office came back, he told me he “doesn’t know how to interpret the results.” Said he would send my lab results to my PCP, which he didn’t do. I had to print my labs from the portal and fax them myself. He told me my PCP would have to “handle it” and that he couldn’t help me. He was not willing to try to figure out what my lab results meant, which is unacceptable. When I called my PCP, they were astonished that the office that ordered the blood work was refusing to interpret the results. Dr Shaw was extremely rude and unprofessional on the phone. I hope to never have to speak to him again. Stay away from this doctor!

I've been going to Dr. Shaw for about 26 years. He is very understanding of my health problems. He is a good doctor

My visits were like being with family, very pleasant

It is next to impossible to get a return call. NO ONE answers the phone. Who ever heard of closing a medical practice to have lunch! Dr Shaw needs an antidepressant, Dr Chattering is just plain rude and Dr Heath is dumb as a box of rocks. He does not listen to anything you tell him.

Misdiagnosed by Dr. Shaw. Glad I went for a second opinion! Not in pain any more.

I was rushed through-out my visit and Dr. Shaw mis diagnosed my illness. Ended up going to ER and seeing another rheumatologist.

Dr is great but office staff could use help. Have increasing difficulty getting renewed prescriptions to the pharmacy on time.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Shaw. He is the best doctor ever!!!! I have seen over 20 different RA doctors and none care as much as he does. He listens to me. He will give me long detailed even drawn explanations to help me make the best decisions possible. He has been there for my day and night. He knows when Iâ??m going downhill and that he will do everything in his power to help me. Iâ??ve called him on his cell phone sooooo many times. He has brought be in unannounced when Iâ??m having a bad flare so we can try to fix the problem. He has talked with other doctors to see what we are missing and why most of the medicines do not work for me. Amazing doctor!!! Iâ??d give him an award if I could.

Dr. Shaw did not order appropriate tests and then did not look at test results (ordered by PCP) which resulted in two serious misdiagnoses.
