Dr. Robert Joseph Kelly JR.

I was driving home from Ohio to FL and got sick and found the nearest hospital which was where Dr. Kelly works. I had to have emergency sx. SO GLAD it was Dr. Kelly there is not enough lines for me to express the care I received. Dr. Kelly showed such compassion knowing I was in a strange place and completely alone. He listened really listened to me and my past medical history to the point when I told him where I was not the "typical patient" (due to prior surgeries) he made the adjustments. In 1 month I was at 4 different hospitals in 3 states and I can tell you IF I EVER have to have surgery that is planned I will drive the 5 hours to have Dr. Kelly do mine. He even cared enough to tell me exactly where to stop on the hour drive home to get out and walk every hour so I won't get blood clots. He took the time to make sure I had a surgeon willing to take my staples out and do my post op check-ups (which I can tell you that was no easy task). I had the best care at the hospital and… the GREATEST Surgeon I could have hoped for. 3 weeks later I was home and had to have another emergency sx and I called Dr. Kelly and asked if it was going to be ok and should I have it etc.... He called me back and talked me through it and then told me to call him back after recovery to let him know how it went. Again I have never ever had such EXCELLENT patient care in my life. Dr Kelly is great at what he does. He takes time listening to your concerns and answering your questions. He’s one of the best.

Dr. Kelly is a nice doctor from what I have experienced. However the staff, mainly the surgery navigator is horrible. Gloria claims to be there to help you along the way to prepare you for surgery but she doesn't answer calls,returns them or simply respond to an email. If the surgery was available in my area I would be changing doctors because no one likes to feel like they are being looked over or that you are bothering someone who should be doing their job.
