Dr. Rothen is very good at what she does, her personality may be a little dry at first, but she warms up to you. I didn't really like her at first, but I could tell she knew what she was talking about. So after the 2nd visit she actually cracked a smile and talked a little more, then I began to like her and we've been seeing her ever since, which has been about 6 yrs.

All people could not have been nicer. If I needed surgery (hope never) I would come here

I felt comfortable and respected Dr Rothen enough that I recommend my daughter bring my 13 yr old grandson to her. Dr Rothen performed labrum surgery and he is doing well.

very frustrating because I work hard and we are barely making ends meet and my daughter needs to see an orthopedic surgeon for her ankle and no one will see her without $150 or more up front since we cannot afford insurance. Doctors are supposed to care about the public not be in it for what they can get out of the public

I saw Dr. Rothen for adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder). I liked her right away - she is no nonsense, without the Doctor-as-God mentality so common with surgeons. She was conservative with treatment, going first with PT and steroid shots. That stalled, so we went to an arthroscopic procedure. That went very well, no follow up problems. After several more months of PT, I have virtually no pain, and most of my range of motion. Dr. Rothen was always very clear about the options, didn't force a decision, and didn't hesitate to recommend other specialists. She is what a doc should be: an expert in medicine/surgery who helps the patient make the right decisions. I hope I never have another shoulder problem, but if I do, I'll go see her first.
