Dr. Ronald James Reiss, MD

Dr. Reiss was the doctor on call in the hospital when I was being induced for labor. My Ob-Gyn left instructions that I should receive Cervidil. In spite of this, when I got to the hospital Dr. Reiss insisted that I receive Pitocin instead, even though my cervix was still entirely closed. I tried to argue against this but he dismissed me; his bedside manner was very cold and uncaring. Big surprise after hours of painful contractions my cervix still wasn't dilated enough and my baby was in distress, so I had to have an emergency C-Section. Dr. Reiss assisted on the C-Section, I'm sure he enjoyed the extra money he earned from that procedure.

I suffered a brain hemorrhage and subsequent epilepsy under Reiss and Simon. Their lack of knowledge about post partum preeclampsia is dangerous and they should not be in practice due to it. They have also expressed zero compassion, apology, or follow up. In my first post partum visit when I still couldn't speak post stroke, he asked my husband and I what we would do for birth control. This shows how clueless this man is. He should retire and not treat women. I am stunned his bio dares say he treats high risk women. Read any information published on maternal morbidity and mortality, I am used as a statistic in their studies. You don't expect this lack of knowledge from an OB in NY. I am most upset by his cold personality, more than the fact that I almost died and was not given any information about warning signs of this most common disease.

I will be forever thankful to Dr. Reiss for the fact that I am a mom. He helped me through infertility, a rough twin pregnancy, and many things after that. He is kind, reasonable, easy to talk to, smart, and good at his job. He’s been my doctor now for around 21 or 22 years.

One of the best OBGYN anyone can have. You can call him without hesitation and he also has excellent bedside manners.

Dr. Reiss has known me through young adulthood through menopause, surgery, panic- you name it! He has always been calm, sensitive, consistent, explanatory, and an overall excellent doctor, I couldn't recommend more highly.

2 years ago I suffered a miscarriage. Instead of suggesting a D&C, he advise natural expulsion which is considered the better of the two. Of course at the moment I didn't think it was the best of the two at the time because of the pain, but Dr. Reiss was very attentive.Due to the pain, My husband called every hour, from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. asking the best way to handle the pain. Dr. Reiss was very helpful. The next morning, Dr. Reiss called asked how I was feeling and advised me to come in. We did and immediately he attended us. Not only was I comfortable but Dr. Reiss also put my husband at ease. Although my miscarriage was not a pleasant point in my life, Dr. Reiss assisted with the situation. We are very thankful he is out OBGYN.

i have been a patient of dr. Reiss for many years. about three years ago, the receptionist changed and since then, it has been a nightmare to deal with his office in NYC. this woman doesn't key in the appointments and when getting there she says you don't have one but you could wait. it happened already twice. secondly, she calls five minutes before closing the office that you need to call back urgently as it's something wrong. than the office is closed for four days. Dr. Reiss is a very good doctor but i am probably going to change him bc of this woman.

No bedside manner before delivery. No compassion or support before or after my delivery. I will give him a compliment for delivering my son via c-section very successfully but he is a cold,cold man.

Dr. Reiss is a true professional. I highly recommend him. He took very good care of me during my pregnancy and after my delivery. It's very comforting in this day and age to find a Dr. who truly cares about his patients and is always aware of their current status. I can't thank him enough for everything he's done for me.
