I will not be returning to this practice. Although Doc is great and he knows his stuff...treats me the patient with great care but his front staff does him a great disservice by not keeping patients informed when he's running late. I checked in on time and then waited for 45 min. At that time I asked the front desk if he was running late...the response was "I donno, I think so". No one bothered to tell me of the delay and it was probably an emergency. I understand delays happen, at least they could have given me the option to reschedule. I told them I was leaving and not going to reschedule. They never called to explain or apologise-Richard Freitag

My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Mansour for several years and have received excellent professional services from Dr. Mansour, his staff and his office. Understanding the delicacy and sensitivity of the practice of the retina of the eye, we could not be more pleased with the expertise, care, treatment and friendliness of Dr. Mansour and his staff. We recommend him most highly and give him a 5 star rating.

I have been seeing Dr. Mansour for 11 years. He saved the site in my right eye. He re-arranged his busy schedule on a late Friday afternoon, made arrangements with the hospital for surgery; and, work very long hours into Friday night. The next morning, Saturday, he opened his office just to see me and ................... I saw him.

I was referred to Dr. Mansour by my ophthalmologist when the retina in my left eye was detaching. At the time it was as if someone had painted a dime with flat black paint and glued it to the center of my eyeglasses. Although my eyesight in the left eye leaves much to be desired, over time, with treatment I have regained a good bit of my sight back. I've not had the need for emergency attention, but when I have called with concern for what may be taking place with my eye, I've been consoled and received an explanation for what was happening at the time. I attempt to arrive early and in doing so have almost always been admitted early. When it has seemed there were too many people in the waiting room (as in overbooked) I only have to think back to how the weather had been in the previous week and I realized that Dr. Mansour was doing everything he could do to make certain his patients weren't neglected. The staff are efficient and friendly, a charming group, attentive to resolving… problems in their field and caring for patients in a manner they, themselves would like to be cared for. Dr. Mansour is energetic and thorough, answers any and all questions I have ever asked with patience and understanding. I have no complaints about service or attention. I wish all my other Dr. appointments were as (all things considered) pleasant and informative as at this office.

I first met Dr. Mansour when diagnosed with a detached retina at 5:00 on a Tuesday. It was a random, luck of the draw referral. He saw me immediately; his office staff stayed that night until 7:30ish, when the repair was complete. By the age of 45 I had already required cataract surgery (done by my opthamalogist). After the detached retina, I was frightened to leave home but my father lives 3 hours away. I asked him what would I do if I have a problem while on the Eastern Shore during a weekend visit -- I was told I am to call him. What a reassuring response -- he is in this with me. I had a central retinal vein occlusion and ended up getting a Kenalog shot, a hemorrhage, a macular hole which was complicated after surgery by a blood clot, this last challenge required inserting silicone oil in my eye. All of this has happened in the same eye over 5 years. This eye was extremely nearsighted, also a lazy eye with heavy astigmatism which I now understand make me a candidate for… these things. Dr. Mansour is extremely knowledgeable, he explains things to the layperson in understandable terms, he is very compassionate, caring, involved, concerned, very responsive. He makes himself available (how I don't know) when his patients need him. My latest surgery was very painful and he has patiently listened through my tears and helped me understand what was happening. He has guided us through this in a manner you just don't find in a lot of doctors these days. I tell him he is a very nice man who sometimes does tough things to people but only in the spirit of helping them. He has spoken with me three times after hours over the years. I tried to back out of the repair surgery and just let the eye go. After working all day with patients, Dr. Mansour spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me one night to explain why he felt that was a mistake in my case. He was more optimistic about restoring my vision than I was. I have a way to go with this eye but I can tell we are making progress, because of Dr Mansour's diligence and dedication. I was impressed by the number of hospital staff who spoke very highly of him. His office staff are always been pleasant and helpful. Sometimes the wait in the office is a tad long but it is because he spends the time with patients that they need. His office visits are efficient -- he doesn't waste time, he uses it wisely. Should the time come that you are the one who needs more of his time than scheduled, you will receive it and you won't mind the wait next time. Your wait could be the result of an emergency. While you might be impatient in his waiting room, he could be making a difference between vision and blindness to someone. I trust and respect Dr. Mansour immensely. I plan to move out of the area in a couple years but already know I will return (7 hour trip) in order to keep Dr. Mansour as my primary retinologist.

Whole appointment was 3 hours long. I know he's a specialist but I feel he was over booked and I wish I would have been able to get a much earlier appointment. Dr. Mansour is an okay doctor, but I feel as if I didn't need some of the testing that I had done.
