Dr. Scott Joseph Raffa, MD

I have now had 3 surgeries performed by Dr. Raffa. When you have severe spine pain and back issues, friends warn that you must choose your doctor carefully. I live in Boca Raton but was referred to Dr. Raffa by a firefighter in Broward county …. I wish I could see that man again!! Dr. Raffa is one of the finest most compassionate, most professional doctors I’ve ever had the privlege to be treated by. It’s not an easy decision to have spinal surgery because you know so many things can go wrong, There is NO need to worry about anything when Dr. Raffa and his team are in charge of your care. He is thorough and meticulous. He is never in too much of a hurry to answer all your questions and make sure you understand everything about your procedure and your recovery. He has offices in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale but he is worth driving to no matter where you live. You will NOT regret this choice!!!

The single worst experience with a physician ever. Non responsive and uncaring. We are waiting now nearly 6 weeks to get him to speak to us about my wife's MRI that he ordered. He ghosted us on a zoom call his team scheduled and then lied about why. After that he skipped another scheduled call without explanation. Run don't walk to someone else. This guy is the worst

I have had back issues since a teen (prior surgery). Needed a new 'baseline' as my other Dr. moved out of state a few years ago. Dr. Raffa talked with me for nearly 45 minutes (I asked for last appt of the day to accommodate). He answered all my questions, never rushed me, drew pictures for examples and showed me photos for reference. He was better than I had hoped for. After a new image, I will go back to see him and discuss next steps, if any. (I have never met him before and am not related to him or associated with his practice in any way.). I had issues about 10 years ago and saw the best of the best in Miami/So FL Neuro and Ortho and Dr. Raffa is well versed in their methodologies and techniques and knew most of them personally. He even saw items on my old films that many others missed. He is a good listener and thoughtful with his responses. Ashley and the rest of the staff are extremely kind and helpful too. I feel confident I have found a great Dr. to guide me through… my back issues (cervical).

0 stars! Words I would use to describe Dr. Raffa: arrogant, narcissistic, and egotistical. He might be intellectually gifted but he lacks interpersonal communication skills necessary for a successful patient physician relationship. He projects a level of superiority which in fact doesn’t work and causes more harm. The patient physician relationship needs to be partnered. He asked no questions about my personal healthcare but was defensive when I questioned him about my personal health care. He’s manipulative and a cover your tracks kind of doctor who could benefit from a big slice of humble pie. He might hear what you say but he doesn’t listen and seems incapable or even unwilling to try. He doesn’t have the skill set. I would not recommend him. I definitely will not be going back.

My visit was wonderful and Dr. Raffa gave me new hope to help me with my severe back pain. I can’t get in touch with his office! No one returns my calls ever! I have left urgent messages and never a reply!
